HIRING AN ESTATE SALE COMPANY? BEWARE! I Sold ESTATE CHIC'S Oct 2023 due to a serious health condition. I hired the new owner to do my personal Estate Sale OCT 2024. Set up was less than satisfactory, just threw stuff up with no regard to value, even though already separated. They went to my son who now owns the home, threatening to quit. This was my family's home for 60 years, still containing my late parents and my contents. He signed the contract & I was blocked from all contact. My hands were tied, the house needs to be empty, Real Estate Listing will be active, and my son has already purchased another house. I pulled up the website and realized they were still using my credentials, still a year later. MISREPRESENTATION *Better Business Accredited, A+ rating *23 yr experience *Specialize High End Sales *Training @ 2 National Estate Sales Conferences *Awards *Testimonials REALITY IS: *No membership BBB *1 year experience *No training *Few Testimonials from customers who attend sales not clients *NO awards GROSS NEGLECT IN PRICING Here are just a few examples, first price researched, and latter is what they priced the items *Japanese Rare Lamp: $800/ $60 *Yamasaki Cara Flatware $20 each piece 4/$1 *Vintage 60’s Rocking Horse $198/ $30 *2lb Crock, mint condition $159-$375/ $18 *1900 Japan Chandelier Lamps (Candlesticks) $240 pr/ $2 & $3ea *Vintage Vollrath Graniteware pot $300/ $18 *2 Concrete Foo Dog Statues $310 ea/ $40 ea *Antique Dinner Bell $300 /$30 *Brownie Camera $100/ $5 Just a fraction of the items that were priced but not researched and were grossly underpriced. My family treasures walked out of my family home for literally pennies on the dollar. Thousands of dollars lost from their neglect Clients should be #1 priority! There should be a fiscal and ethical responsibility. The Estate Sale industry is not regulated, anyone can start up without experience and can even advertise lies about their credentials. What you see, isn't always what you get!
