This is my second complaint on this business. WE HAVE TAKEN THE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY PAPER FOR MANY YEARS. OUR SERVICE (DELIVERY) IS VERY POOR. EITHER WE DONT GET A PAPER AT ALL OR THE PAPER IS MISSING SECTIONS. JUST THIS PAST SUNDAY WAS THE LAST STRAW. THERE IS JUST NO WAY THAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO REPORT THESE MISSED PAPERS OR INCOMPLETE SECTIONS. THE ONLY RESPONSE IS "WE WILL CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT" BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO VERIFY THIS IS EVER DONE. BESIDES, WE DONT WANT CREDIT, WE WANT THE PAPER DELIVERED. SO, AS OF TODAY I HAVE CANCELLED OUR SUBSCRIPTION. AND ALTHOUGH I DOUBT THIS WILL EFFECT THE NEWSPAPER, I ALSO WILL BE PUTTING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND SOCIAL MEDIA.Review from Jamie B

I constantly pick up. Sunday paper.. The comics being eighty five percent of the reason. But several times recently I have gotten the paper and the comics are missing.. Sometimes there's a duplicate of one of the orjer the sections instead.... I guess it's kind of my fault for not checking before i leave with my paper.. But I don't think I should. We've had problems with the B.R. Advocate driver for over 2 years going over 40 in our 20 mph subdivision. I've yelled at him to Slow Down but it does no good, and he also speeds through the 2 Stop signs! I've called the paper, police, sheriff and filed complaints but nothing has been done about it! Last week I was about to step off driveway to go walk with my neighbor and he sped by, threw the paper and came back to leave and swerved from his lane into mine and would've hit me IF I had stepped into the street! I have a video of him this a.m. at 5:40 a.m. but it's 49 MB and FB only accepts 25MB but I did post in on our FB page. I sent tis to the Advocate but they probably won't do anything again: Thanks, I guess you don't want anyone to post anything that's a problem with your paper but Again as usual everyday the reckless B.R. Advocate driver came speeding in and out of our subdivision at probably twice the speed limit at 5:40 this a.m.! Last week same thing in white pickup as I was about to step off my driveway into the street he swerved from the east bound lane he was in to the west bound lane I was about to step in and came a couple feet from me! If he keeps that up someone may get injured or killed! Do Something about that reckless maniac before you get sued!! I've reported this to the Police and Sheriff Dept. AND your paper several time but NOTHING has been doneThe Advocate Response

I have had reoccurring problems with delivery of the Advocate newspaper. Each time I call them and fill out the delivery issue form. I get told that I have access to the online newspaper. But, I don't want to read it online. I just want my newt. I paid for delivery 7 mornings a week. Please help me with this issue. I am tired of being told to read online and that they will credit that day. Really!!! Years ago, they would bring a paper out if the paper wasn't received. That ended and of course delivery fees continue to rise.Review from Cindi B

I'm having a lot of problems w/a guy by the name of **** ***** whom is suppose to delivery 2 Saturday papers & 2 Sunday papers...I paid in advance & have spoken to him & still I will only get one paper each day or none at all. .he was rude to me & said No one told him anything when in fact I've spoken to 4 different employees whom have said he got the message but, yet he is still mean to me. I'm a Senior Citizen & don't deserve this kind of treatment from **** ***** that is why I stopped getting the Times-Picayune 2 years ago cause of him...Can this be Solved?????Review from Paul N

I have been a subscriber to the Advocate for over 40 years. On two seperate occassions, I was forced to cancel my subscription in the past 12 years because of multiple occassions where my complaints of non-delivery went unaddressed. I decided to give the Advocate a third "Strike Opportunity." in mid-2021. In July 2022, they are once again swinging at air. I have not received a newspaper since July 3, 2022. I have called and talked with a "Live" representative each missed day. I get the same answer that I will be credited for the skipped delivery and they will correct the issue with delivery. First off, I have no way of knowing if I am being credited or not, never received anything but their word. on July 6, I was told they were aware of a "Delivery-contractor" issue which interupted delivery... Funny, since I personally watched at 6:19am as the delivery guy, in a small white truck, with ADVOCATE written in large letters pass my home up and pitch a paper to my neighbors home just down the road from me! After over 40 years, and THREE calls in a row, I expect more than a promise of refund, and a lie about delivery problems. I pay for a service of 7 day a week home delivery. I get charged automatically by the Advocate through a direct bank draft when my payment is due. I look at this agreement as a contract between two parties to deliver a service for a fee, and it appears that one side of this contract is failing to upholding their end of the contract. This is just short of criminal in some contractural agreements.Review from Joel H

I took advantage of a promotional offer to subscribe to NOLA.com to access local content. You have to supply credit card and there is the statement that your card will be automatically charged monthly going forward unless you cancel your subscription. After a few months I decided to cancel my subscription and there is no way to do so online despite being assured there was. So I had to call during the M-F business hours and of course was greeted with electronic greeting. When I stated the reason for calling was to cancel my subscription the system went silent for 30 seconds and then hangs up on you. I repeated this 3 times with the same result. On the 4th try I said I wanted to get new subscription and was connected in less than 90 seconds. There is zero doubt in my mind this is all intentional and at best is an underhanded business practice and in my my borderline fraud. Get your news and advertise somewhere else until they conduct their business in a reputable fashion.The Advocate Response

I wanted to clarify that all subscribers can cancel online, once you've logged in under your account your profile allows you to cancel as indicated below. (see screenshots included in response email) Once you click "here" the information is gathered for canceling your subscription and processes accordingly. This company keep littering my yard with newspapers I have not ordered/want. I contacted the several times to stop throwing newspapers in my yard. They refuse to stop. This is littering and I will be in contact with city that they be charge by there action. Enough is enough!
