This tantrum that my husband supposedly threw was him raising his voice bc Colby would not listen to him when he was telling him that salt had not been added in almost 3 months. He also apologized bc he knew he had gotten loud. I'd like to see how either of these men would react in the same situation. But, we already know that bc of how they handled this situation. They aren't wrong ever. Yet, we're supposed to be ok with paying for a service we did not get and wasn't addressed.
After Colby did in fact talk to his pool guy and he admitted he kept running out of salt, he then sent him back. The "little" algae that was still on the steps in most cases wouldn't be much of an issue, but this was after he was supposed to give it a thorough cleaning. Another thing not mentioned is that when Colby called back, he and Marty both had a different tone and were cordial. This also was after marty told him about the lack of salt being added and Colby telling him he'd add 12 bags if he wanted. Very smart mouth. I can under defending your business, but look at the facts first. The pool wasn't clean, so address the issue. In this case, it's the pool guy. The character of these 2 men only came into question with the way they replied to the substandard care of the pool.
As I also stated, there are 4 more ladies that have had issues and I do have the texts to prove it. However, I won't out them bc they are more desperate than I am for a pool cleaner and are settling until something else comes along. Not sure if it ever will, but that is their business. One even has video proving the guy not doing his job .
My main reason for writing this review is to make sure people go in with eyes wide open bc it's a 50/50 chance that you'll get what you pay for. Most businesses aren't as defensive as these people are. They want to find out the problem and fix it. These guys don't want to be questioned or have anything pointed out as subpar. The funny part is, when the son was handling the pool, it was fantastic as I also told them. It's the help that is terrible and that's not being addressed even if it's hard to find good help. Just acknowledge that and fix the problem. This situation should never have escalated if the problem was addressed. I even acknowledged that our pool is hard to keep clean, but the turning green and throwing shock into it instead of adding salt was the breaking point.
No business or owner is perfect and everyone can improve. Even in my profession, we have to swallow our pride and fix issues we created. Unfortunately, for Rivercity, they don't see where there is room for improvement. I tried to tell Kevin that no one was attacking anyone, we just wanted to get what we paid for. I'm not even mad, just confused on why anyone would treat customers in this way when even he admits the service wasn't great. I sure hope his son handles his personal woodwork business better than this one.
Granted, I never looked at reviews on this company before I hired them bc had others recommend. t's funny how these same referrals are the ones also having issues, but don't want to have to clean themselves so they are settling. I just hope for their sake that he takes this critique and does better. Once I did look at the few reviews on Google and BBB, I saw the pattern and wanted to do my part to let people know our situation.
I truly wish these guys the best, but their business acumen could definitely stand improvement.
