****,
We're sorry your tenant did not have a positive experience with our company. As the owner, I am very aware of this and would like to provide some context to your remarks. The employee in this situation has worked for my company for over four years. During this time, we have never received a single complaint like this against him. We send a survey to every customer at the end of the job and of the hundreds of customers he has worked for, we have never received a complaint of this nature.
We take your feedback very seriously and researched it immediately after we were notified. We spoke/emailed with you numerous times and as it turned out, your tenant (the mother in this case) made even more inflammatory claims which you admitted were inaccurate and over the top. My employee did make a "joke" that was not well received, but it was in no way a sexual comment. I have an email from you that corroborates this.
In regards to yelling at the child, we researched this and confirmed that after our employee finished his work, he packed up his tools and materials and left everything neatly stacked. When he came back the next day, he realized that the child had been playing with them. He told the child to not play with his tools, which was perhaps done in a manner that was a bit too harsh, but the safety of the child was in question, and he was afraid for their safety. This is also corroborated in our email exchange.
I am sorry that my employee made a joke that was inappropriate. However, there is a huge difference between taking a comment like that and turning it into an accusation of making a threatening sexual comment. We took this situation very seriously and investigated it in detail. I also dealt with my employee so he knows what he did was not appropriate, and I am 100% certain he wont make a similar mistake in the future.
As the owner, I personally investigated this event and responded in a way that I believe was appropriate considering the actual details of the interaction and my employee's long history of good service. I am sorry your tenant felt the way she did, and I have made sure my employee does not make similar comments.
