On June 11, 2024, I entered into an agreement to purchase a 2021 **** Mustang Mach-E, identified as Stock#FN5201A. Prior to entering into the transaction, I made aware my interest in obtaining a Point Of Sale (***) Federal EV tax credit for the vehicle purchase. After signing an internal document that outlined the terms of the sale, I then completed a credit application. The dealer circulated my application to several financial institutions including but not limited to *** McGovern, *************** PNC Bank, and **** Motor Credit. When I sat down to sign the financing agreement, I inquired as to the handling of the *** EV credit. The finance manager was unaware of the expected *** credit and was thus unprepared to proceed. We agreed to postpone signing the final purchase and financing agreements until the issue was sorted out. After some back and forth, the dealer determined that it would not provide the *** EV credit and then offered to cancel the transaction. I immediately declined the dealer's offer to cancel the transaction. After forwarding the auto policy, the dealer contacted me and stated that a miscommunication had occurred and the vehicle was sold to another dealer. The sales manager to whom I maintained the majority of my communications, then advised that he would acquire a "comparable or better deal" on another vehicle with the caveat that it may take a few days. Nearly one month has passed and the dealer has failed to honor its commitment to provide a comparable or better vehicle at or lower than the previously negotiated price (a comparable or better deal). In fact, the sales manager has stopped corresponding with me altogether.
