Left 3 phone messages for a manager before I received call back from D. *******, General Sales Manager, KOONS WestMinister MD. KOONS provided me with a CARFAX report showing the 2020 Toyota Supra I purchased on 18 Aug 2021 showed no accident/damage. On 15 Jul 2024 I took car to CARMAX to sale. CARMAX informed me a collision was reported on 3 Mar 2021, left side and bumper damage in Dallas TX. Upset that KOONS didn't inform me of damage before I purchased the car from them. Spoke with D. *******, 30 Jul 2024, who stated he questions legitimacy of accident, must be mistake because car was in Dallas TX when the car was in the accident (?), if don't see damage then its a mistake (?) and I should contact CARFAX. I would not have purchased the car if I knew it was in an accident. Private parties are not willing to purchase a car with accident history unless it is reduced below KBB. KOONS purchased the CARFAX report - if the manager believes it is in error they should resolve the error. Request KOONS purchase the car back from me at KBB PP price of at least $48,327 and take up the issue with CARFAX.Review from LaTosha R

Purchased a jeep grand Cherokee & purchased all warranties which included road hazard. One of the tires went flat within a week. Took it to ******** & they told me the rear tires needed to be replaced because they were not in spec with the front tires. The truck had 2 new tires on the front & older tires on the back. He told me to go back to koons. I returned to koons & they told me that the tires were fine. I had put air in the tire, it went flat again. I took the truck to koons on security blvd. & the mechanic told me that I did not have a tire warranty on file. I sent him a copy of the contract. He then told me he called the company & they had no record of the contract so they could not repair the tire I would have to pay for it. I called Bob at koons Westminster he told me they were incorrect. Justin from koons on security told me again there was no warranty & they could not replace the tire. He did patch it enough for it to last for 2 days. Got up to go to work tire flat again. I requested for koons to replace the back tires after I was told that the tread was low on the rear tires. They declined and the tire is still going flat. I don’t know if I have a warranty or not since koons on security said no but the Westminster store says yes but refuses to replace the bad tires on the vehicle. I bought this truck in good faith but it appears to be a horrible decision . I can’t even get a tire repaired or replaced & I supposedly bought a road hazard package. I’ve reviewed the reviews on the koons Westminster site & it appears that this dealership needs to be investigated by the attorney generals office, consumer protection division. Which I will be filing a complaint there also since this dealerships business practices needs to be known to other consumers. I have not been made whole, my tire is still going flat, the rear tires need to be replaced since I supposedly have a road hazard plan & the tires do not have the correct tread. ******* *******Review from Aris S

After only 19 months of having this car (2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit) I’ve had to get a new engine and now the car doesn’t even start. Paid over 20k for the car, needed a new engine within a year… I didn’t even have the car from Dec 2022 to Feb 2023 because the warranty company wouldn’t send anyone out to “confirm” I needed a new engine. On top of that, I took it to Koons and they told me warranty wouldn’t cover it (which wasn’t true). Ultimately they partially covered the cost to get the engine replaced when I didn’t have the car for 3 months but only gave me a rental for 5 days. Recently I was having some issues with a leak and took it to a local place near me to see what was wrong (coolant leak) which was accurate. Last week I was told I would be covered for the service through warranty… which also was not true because I was 200 miles outside of warranty (I live 75 miles from here) was not offered any type of discount, which led to me paying over 2k for a coolant leakage. After they “completed” the work and I make the payment I get the car back and I don’t even make it 20 miles and the car is literally SMOKING from the front and the car locks up and shuts down, luckily I could make it in a public parking lot prior to it shutting down. This is not only Koons but the warranty company as well, I have not felt like a valued customer at all. Not to mention the loaner they gave me while fixing the leak was disgusting, inside and out. I would be hesitant on purchasing a car through them and also the warranty company. They do not seem to be on the same page. UPDATE! The car was towed to them July 30th. I spoke with Bob (Manager) and he has yet to return any of my phone calls. Now they're saying other issues are wrong when they gave me the car back worse than when I gave it to them. I have NOT received a loaner, have NOT received a detailed update, and nothing has been resolved BUT they made sure they got their money. I will be taking this matter further.Review from DEAN P

**** ** Asheville, NC 23 8/2/2023 I purchased a 2020 Lexus GX 460 from Koons Toyota in Baltimore in July of 2023. I found the vehicle on line. Brendon , who is a sales person at Koons, had a video on line of this vehicle. It looked good except for some scratches on the front bumper. I contacted Brendon and told him that I would purchase the vehicle at the advertised price if they would repair the scratches and detail the vehicle. Brendon agreed to fix the vehicle and detail it. They don't ship so I flew a friend to Baltimore and he drove the car back. When I received the car the scratches had not been repaired and the car wasn't detailed. I texted with Brendon and sent photos of the area that wasn't repaired. He apologized and promised to rectify the situation. Koons has promised to send a check to cover the repairs but I have not received it. That was 3 weeks ago. They tell me that they sent $150.00. I am not sure that $150.00 will fix my issues? Koons gave me their word in writing that that these issues would be handled before my guy picked up the car. I spoke to Dan ******* who is a manager at Koons. He said that his body shop could do it for $150.00. I am sure they can but I don't have his connections. He also suggested that I drive from North Carolina to Baltimore and they would do the body work?? I am very disappointed that Koon's did not keep their word and are not offering a reasonable solution now that the vehicle is in N.C. **** ********Koons Westminster Toyota Response

This dealership has been dishonest and hard to work with at every step. I bought a vehicle two years ago here when my car at the time unexpectedly had major issues leaving me in a situation where I needed a replacement immediately. I traded that vehicle in and started a $9000 loan AFTER the trade in value, for a car that’s only worth about $7,000 total. Included in the loan was a service plan that they have refused to honor, or explain why they won’t honor it. The car is no longer in working order because I can’t get repairs that should already be paid for by the loan. In seeking to sell it back to the dealership to get out of a loan that’s not serving me in any way, they gave me an offer $3000 which is outright insulting and would leave me responsible for about $4000 remaining in the loan. They have taken advantage of me at every opportunity and will do the same to you.Koons Westminster Toyota Response

The reply is a boldface lie. I did purchase a service plan, and was led to believe by the salesman that it covered all maintenance. The offer provided when giving them an opportunity to make this right and to get out of this predatory loan was comically low. They offered less than half of the Kelly bluebook value. This dealer is a ripoff at every single step and they have no remorse about it. They in fact suggest other business fix their mistakes!!!!!Review from Heath O

Wow, should have come here to read reviews first. We purchased a used Highlander after purchasing a new Venza just a few months prior. We had the vehicle for a week and the first time I washed it the paint started to peel from the wheels. I took the vehicle back and got the run around from sales to service to sales again. The salesman tried to help but in the end management refused to take care of the problem. The process was also drug out long enough that they said I couldn't return the vehicle because the title work had already gone through.
