    On July 25, 2023, BBB requested that the company substantiate, modify, or discontinue claims advertised on the company's website. The website advertises "Minimum of 30-day guarantee on all pest management services provided."

     

    According to the BBB Code of Advertising Section 20. Warranties/Guarantees, "the advertiser must must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to sale. Sellers or manufacturers should advertise that a product or service is warranted or guaranteed only if the seller or manufacturer promptly and fully performs its obligations under the warranty or guarantee."

    In May 2023, I had a raccoon in my attic. I contacted a local pest removal company and they informed me that this was wildlife removal. They referred me to Pestway. I contacted them and they informed me that there was a $99.00 inspection fee which was refundable if you purchased their services. I also inquired about a military discount and they said that they had one. Prior to their representative coming to my house, I opened the hatch on my attic and shot and killed the racoon. When their person arrived, I informed him that the racoon was deceased. He looked and said that there could be another so he didn't want to go any further into the attic. He said that they needed to put a trap on my roof to catch any other racoons. He did this and put a can of Meow Mix to use as bait. I asked for an invoice, he said that he didn't have one but it would be forwarded to me. The next day I received an invoice. To my surprise the $99.00 inspection fee was still there. In addition I was charged $299 for the trap. Local retail prices are in the $75 range. The Meow Mix was $37 which locally sells for $1.40. I don't have a problem with a company charging a premium but this is price gouging. After 2 plus days the racoon was getting ripe so I climbed on my hands and knees to remove and dispose. A service they charge for but did not provide. I was 77 at the time and have early stage cancer. Difficult for me to do. As there were no more raccoon. I called them to remove the trap and they did. 10 days later another person came and tried to patch the entryway and remove the f**** I never received a military discount and ended up paying them $1,087.00 for unsatisfactory services. I cannot recommend this company. They are interested in overcharging and not fulfilling their obligations. If I could rate them lower than F I would.
