When I purchased my car a yr ago it was attached with a verbal promise by the salesman Dakota that in 6 months my $620 car payment will get lowered to just about half..unfortunately when I went back Dakota went to the Midland branch but they said to me " he promised that alot" and did NOTHING for me! I purchased the car with understanding my payments would get lowered in 6 months, I could swing 6 months, now I'm stuck & I owe too much for my bank to refinance ( I tried today ) I was lied to & tricked for the salesmans personal commission & now in threat of them taking my car!

      Business response

We have spoken to Ms. ***** and cleared up any confusion regarding refinancing.  A customer can attempt to refinance at any time after delivery but there are too many factors for us to ever promise something like that nor does it say that in her contract.  We do not refinance and it would have to be handled directly with the banks.

Typically we can trade a customer out of their vehicle after ***** months, please have Ms. ***** reach out to us if she'd like to look at trading in her vehicle.

      Sincerely,

I bought a car from them, was told the car was certified, when I explained the something was wrong with this car 5 or 6 days later was offered to let their mechanic look at the car, said everything was ok. I explained I was going to get a diagnosis myself was told by *** I was wasting my time and money. Fast forward last week car wouldnt start , took the car to the *** dealer to see the problem, was told the car was in a severe accident, the miles are not correct because the software isnt correct! I was falsely led to believe the car was a great car, I can remember being so unsure about the car and I didnt come there with any money that I told them Id be back tomorrow and I was basically conned into talking the car that day signing for the car and being told hed get the car fax the next day and didnt . Although I did forget to ask before giving the money he knew I had asked for it and he also went out of his way to assure me the car was certified, how can a car be certified if the software isnt good? He knew that. The mileage is incorrect as well. This is not a case of buyers remorse because I can afford my payment however how could a dealership sell a car knowing that the car was severely damaged and wasnt fixed correctly? Sold me warranty and all that I never discussed with them. Lied to me and said the had the car looked at and didnt cause they would have known the software was faulty and therefore the miles and all kinds of other stuff could possibly be going on that I wouldnt know or have a way of knowing if the software it self isnt correct! I need help with this matter please.

RightWay Auto Sales takes customer satisfaction very seriously.  That is why we have every vehicle safety inspected by a repair facility prior to making it available for sale.  Its also why we provide every customer with an independent 6 month or ***** mile warranty at no cost to the customer.  Ms. ******* was also given ample time to test drive and inspect the vehicle prior to purchase.

Ms. ******* purchased her vehicle as part of an arms-length transaction where she reviewed and agreed to all the terms of the contract in writing.  She was also provided an Autocheck vehicle history report showing the vehicle was in a moderate accident and an Odometer Disclosure Statement verifying the mileage on the vehicle.  In regards to a warranty, Ms. ******* was provided a 6/6 powertrain warranty at no cost and elected not to purchase optional additional coverage.  She did purchase optional Gap insurance.

Unfortunately, theres no way of telling what may break down on a vehicle over time, but you can tell from the measures above we make every effort to deliver the best product possible.  From the complaint is sounds like Ms. ******* needed a software update from the manufacturer, other than that almost a year after purchase we are unaware of any other issues.

Almost a year after purchasing the vehicle and driving it an unknown amount of miles we dont feel giving Ms. ******* the full refund requested in the complaint is fair or necessary. However, we will pay her fair market value for the vehicle if shed like to trade it in for another vehicle or simply sell it back to us. Please have Ms. ******* contact us directly if shed like to bring the vehicle in for an appraisal.

I paid in total I believe ***** dollars for this car! ***** for the car and 200 to have insurance so I would be able to drive off the lot. However during the purchase of the vehicle I was promised by the MANAGER of that particular location that I could trade in the car after having it 6 months to a year! So I said ok I will be back in that time frame to trade it in! However not even 3 months of having this car that they SAID passed inspection , *** had to have 2-3 different water pumps put in, a coolant hose just recently got put in I also have had the ** condenser and reservoir installed once, now Im on the fifth ** compressor that keeps going out and Midas is having to replace them! As of right now 10/13/2024 Im having to drive in ***** degree weather because of these circumstances and I dont have ***** down for minimum Payment. The blower motor and heater core went out on 10/9/2024. With all of these issues going on with this car I called the manager of right way of ******* and asked if I could trade in , he told me to come in the following day which was 10/10/2024 & he would see what he could do, he asked why I wanted to trade in I told him why and I sat down with a sales representative named *****, needless to say he was very rude and was trying to get me ***** down Payment or wait until another year to trade in! I then asked to speak with manager that I spoke with last year about trading in car after about a year of having it he told me something about a down payment or I would have to wait another year! He act as if he didnt recall telling me I could trade in after about a year! So Im here now filing a complaint against this business because I would like a refund or a trade in! The car Im driving is barely reliable to get me back and forth to work! Could you help me get this issue resolved! Not to mention as well the key fob also went out after a month or 2 of having

When Asia bought her car, she was not thrilled about her purchase. Wasn't the car or payment she wanted but she understood she had to work through the process to get to that point. She asked if she could come back in 6 months to trade out at the time of sale. She was told trading at that time would be very difficult as she would not be far enough into the loan, but that she MAY qualify with her bank or credit union to refinance her vehicle at that time, pending their stipulations. She was advised that she would need to be in this vehicle for ***** months before being eligible to trade with us. She has had a few service issues, all of which have been paid in full by the warranty and or the dealership. Any correspondence between Asia and the dealership has been nothing but professional.

Mr. Geiger came to our Kenosha location looking to purchase a vehicle and assistance in securing financing for the purchase.  He filled out a credit application and we sent him home to collect his proof of income and title.  When he returned the proof of income came in less than what he had stated on the credit application.  Due to that we needed additional money down to secure an approval.  He then asked us to place the loan in Anthony Graceffa's name only, which we told him we could not do knowing the vehicle was for him.

We are sorry we could not assist Mr. Geiger, but we did provide him with a way to go.  It just required more down payment than he was expecting.

What I stated on the application was what my finances were they are lying over at this rightway I did not say anything higher than what I made these people are lying the guy for rightway called me on the phone said they had already acquired a loan for me all I had to do is come to the store and pick out a vehicle but when I got there they treated me like dirt. The guy Jr. That I was working with didn't even have the nerve to come tell me I couldn't get a car. It isn't right I would have never wen t to this place if the guy that called me telling me I had a loan for a car these people need to get better customer service training. Not sit on the phone and talk to their friends rather than work with the customer. I want a refund for my gas or I will be contacting my lawyer. These people lie so much they shouldn't even be in business they way they treat their customers.

August of 2023 I bought a Buick LaCrosse at a ridiculous interest rate of 20% is what I initially agreed on the price Blue book value was only *****. They **** the price up to $20,000. At the time I knew that was a bad decision I told him I couldn't do it and he assured me that with my credit most places will not approve me but he had an option for me that if I paid one payment of $653 a month and 20 percent interest that had a year they would buy the car back and then promised a 15% interest rate. He gave me a piece of paper showing the same name on it that I got the loan from. Then shortly after a few days later tells me that they needed to change the stipulations that I needed to make two payments a month they'd be $400 and the interest would then be 28% on the car. I said that's fine as long as you will honor the buyback program that you're talking about they assured me they would. I come back in after a year never missed a payment still haven't it's almost been 2 years so technically I've done four years of on Time payments since we originally agreed to one payment a month but they changed it. I come back in for them to honor their part of the deal and every person in there act like I was crazy. Like they would have never done that. So I contacted the finance company that was on my loan which is on the same piece of paper they gave me saying they do a buyback program and this company will after a year will almost guarantee a 15% interest rate when I contacted them they said they absolutely would not refinance a car they do not finance cars to refinance them so whoever told you that was a liar.

Well now I know what to never believe from a shady car dealer that I buy back program is completely a joke. I'll be contacting the *** and Fox 4 problem solvers. I still have the same piece of paper they gave me saying that they do this buyback program. See you on Fox 4.

In early February 2024 we went right way in ********** to get a vehicle, we got a 2014 **** escape from them, also go the extended warranty. Before we drove off the lot there were a number of things wrong with the vehicle to begin with, the lights for the **** parking fault, and tire pressure were on, and there was a clicking in the rear end while turning, we were under the understanding that right way would make it right by getting it fixed, we drove the car for almost 3 weeks and the transmission blew. They took it to commet pride in ********** to repair the transmission. My vehicle was gone for about 6 weeks got it back and they hadn't programed the transmission correctly, or change out the cooling system on the top of the transmission, leading to my car over heating and going into limp mode multiple times, multiple times it was in and out of the same shop for the same problem that they didn't get resolved, then it got send to southern Michigan motors to get the clicking noise looked at because the owner of commet pride said "drive it like you stole it and just don't turn slow" come to find out the entire rear differential needed replaced, my vehicle was in the shop at that point for 3 months, we finally got it back and the all the lights are still on, the only thing that actually got fixed was the back differential, and this time we had no speedometer, no power steering and when it would try to go into 1st 2nd or 3rd gear the **** would jump up to 4000 stay there then plummet, we took it to right way for them to drive it them selfs and was told that pretty normal, that well have it taken to ********* ********* determined it was the abs module that we told them it was from the very beginning before even drove it off the lot, and that the warranty will not cover it and my car is currently at ********* because I dont have the money for the diagnostic fee that should be covered. These issues have been on going since we drove it off the lot, I was lied to by the person who sold me the car telling me I had a "bumper to bumper" warranty and that the only things not covered were cosmetic, tires and oil changes. I have had my car maybe non consecutively a month or a little over, that's in the whole almost 7 months that I have been paying on this car, never late, never missed and payment and it's not right that I've held up my end of the deal and right way has not. I appreciate the thought of paying half but I shouldnt have to pay for any of it when the issue was there when I bought it with the promise to get any issues fixed, then that got swept under the rug when the transmission blew about 3 weeks after getting it. I would like for it to be fixed as promised or a buy back option, dealing with right way has been an extreme headache that has just gotten worse and worse since I signed the papers, and after everything I've been through with this vehicle and how much it's effected my life, my kids life and my job, I think that what I'm asking for is completely fair.

We also were providing a loaner to ******************, but discontinued doing that due to the condition she was returning our vehicles.  They were dirty but the main issue was that she continued to smoke marijuana in the vehicle even though we told her that was unacceptable.

Our offer still stands that we would pay half of the repair cost for the non-covered component.  Please have ****************** reach out to us if she'd like to accept that offer.

If not please consider this our last response on this issue.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your rejection of the business's response.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

Who ever is writing these letters where not there when I got my vehicle, you do not know what was said, ****** from right way in ********** specifically said that it was a "bumper to bumper" warranty. As far as the rentals go, I had 2 vehicles rented out to me and I do not smoke marijuana due to my anxiety and the way it makes me feel so I'm not sure where you got that from not was it ever mentioned to me, again because I do not smoke it, or even ingest it in any way, the van was turned in in perfect condition which was the first vehicle that was lent me, the *** which was the last I had for 3 months, there was a few cans in the trunk that my husband was supposed to take back to help my father, and a gas can that was there when we got it. We returned the *** in BETTER condition than when we had gotten it, it was not check in or anything before we got it and was awful, ********** wrappers half eaten food and so much dirt like it had been driven by a farmer. We took the liberty of cleaning and vacuuming it out when we got it and when we returned it. Ive tried reaching out to rightway corporate and been told multiple times that someone would get back with me with in 48 business hours and nothing, you have my phone number if you'd like to talk me call me because this is absolutely ridiculous and the accusation of smoking marijuana in the vehicle is laughable. I'm saying now for the second time I would like a buy back option or for right way to pay to fix what was messed up with the vehicle when I drove it off the lot like I was promised.

      Regards,
