got my dog (shes a rescue) a little over a year ago and Kenwood has been our primary vet ever since. I want to start out by saying the staff and doctors are wonderful, compassionate and sweet people - but I am a little disappointed and Ill tell you why. In June my dog started getting infections that would not go away - for this reason we were making MULTIPLE visits to the vet in late summer/fall to get this resolved. During this time I did a little digging into her symptoms and asked the vet to test her for dry eye - which came back positive. Mind you it took the infection coming back 3 times for this action to be taken. After confirmation of her dry eye she was in at least one more time for her annual and during that visit I told **************** it wasnt improving much at which point they put her on prednisone. Fast forward to 6 months later and I brought her to a specialist in Oakdale per Kenwoods recommendation and they told us that she should be using artificial tears as well. I had no idea. I went and picked some up and IMMEDIATELY her eye made a 180. No more discharge and crust and more importantly no more discomfort. I am very happy her condition improved - but I really wish my vets at Kenwood would have told me about this upon diagnosis. Its really expensive to get care for your animals especially if they have a chronic issue and I might have to reassess where we go from now on.After reading some other reviews and it reminded me that when she was prescribed 2 medications they accidentally switched the labels on them - swapping the instruction and dosage along with it. Also the co owners responses to people who leave critical reviews are really ugly. I have met Turino personally and after my interaction with him I only ever wanted my dog to see him - I liked him that much. But after reading these responses from him I dont think I could ever come back to Kenwood. So cruel and demeaning of other people and for what? It does no good for anyone.
