This company sells vehicles that are dangerous to drive. They lie to you stating the vehicles have been inspected and are in good operating condition. If you choose to shop here, please don't trust their word. Take the vehicle to a shop for an inspection before making any purchase.

      Mountain Lake Automotive LLC Response

      01/31/2023

The customer purchased a 17 year old truck completely as is, and was aware it hadn't been inspected. A few months later they slid into the ditch sideways when the roads were super icy and asked us to fix the damage and inspect it. We did repair the wheel/tire issues and took a look at it and didn't find residual issues. Apparently there was some damage to the front end that wasn't easily noticed at first and caused some problems after. We did offer to do any repairs at our cost and provide a free loaner vehicle to try to help; we obviously didn't cause the accident but understand the guest felt we should have caught the front end issues so we tried to offer what we could to help. Unfortuantely at 17 years old any vehicle can break/need repairs at anytime.

We were NOT aware it hadn't been inspected. I was told it was a great running vehicle. Low miles, good reviews. We asked for someone to check out the vehicle several times just two days after the purchase. No one helped. Yes we did go into the ditch and had it towed to you for help. I asked *********** shop for a full inspection including why it was slipping from 2x to 4x so I could file a claim. He put two tires on it and noted the running board was bent, no estimate for repairs. I was told there was nothing else wrong with it. One week later, the front assembly fell apart while driving down the highway. After having pulled it into the nearest station, I was shown all the problems with the truck. I was told it was unsafe and should never have been driven. Bad ball joints, severe "play" in the wheels, faulty tranfer case motor, which was the 4x4 issue (we believe is what sent us into the ditch), several bad seals, the list goes on. Yes, you did offer to repair it at your cost, but after *********** shop "fixed it" the first time we almost wrecked again. We couldn't trust your shop with this. They should have made us aware of these issues. This purchase is costing me thousands. All I am saying is have your vehicles inspected. VERY expensive ****** learned here. Don't trust a friendly face!!
