I purchased a vehicle on 4/15/23. During that purchase the salesman assured me that if anything was wrong with the vehicle I could bring it back and they would "take care of it" even though it was "as-is". I was even given an example of another person that had a transmission go bad, and how they took care of it. I asked about warranties and was shown a couple of options. I was told by the salesman that warranties don't usually cover anything with cars that have the over ******* miles and that it wasn't worth it to buy but that I had 90 days to purchase it and he would send the information. They never did. Within 6 days of purchasing, the car began overheating and broke down on the side of the highway. When I reached out to them and brought the car back they tried to tell us it was "as it". When I told them about the salesman verbally telling me something different, he then told us to bring the vehicle down. I brought the vehicle to the dealership on Saturday, 4/22/23 and I was told that the mechanic was out of the country but would be back on Monday to fix it. I called on Monday, 4/24/23, and was then told that the mechanic was not back and they would take the vehicle to another dealership on Tuesday, 4/25/23 to be fixed. I contacted them again in the afternoon on 4/25/23 to check in, and this time I was told that it wouldn't be looked at for a few weeks and that since the vehicle was "as is" I should just come pick it up. After the vehicle working seemingly fine for a month, it began overheating and the check engine light came on (this is all well under 90 days of purchasing). Upon taking the vehicle to a mechanic we found a bleed s**** and sensor in the glove box that had been changed. We also found out that the engine had been out of the vehicle. The total to fix this vehicle is $5,400. This is nearly the price originally paid for the vehicle, and the dealer knew the vehicle had issues because he tampered with it. This is by definition a salvage vehicle.
