              I purchased a car in the State of ******** and financed a portion of it due to title and paperwork reasons the finance manager gave me. The interest rate was incredibly high for a great credit rating so I wanted to pay it off immediately. I called Truist Bank a week after signing papers to pay the loan off and they refused payment stating I had to wait until I received the letter with an account number. Refusing the payment was fraudulent itself however I agreed to their ways and received the attached letter in the mail on 09/16/2024. I called to payoff the loan to find out $120 interest had already accrued and the first month payment wasn't even due until 10/06/2024. This letter stated to wait until receiving statements to make first payment however I wanted to pay it off so disregarded that. Much to my surprise was the $120 interest. I called Truist Bank and explained that they had already refused my payment due to not having an account number and now has been charging this interest until I did which is fraudulent. They sent me to Supervisor ****** ********* who also refused to adjust the interest. So I agreed to pay it off and report to BBB for the refund at which time he said he couldn't take payoff over the phone and only could take a payment. I offered to make a $18,502 "payment" while on phone and he again refused payment. I started an online account and paid the balance in full but am requesting BBB to get the $120 interest refunded due to the multiple refusal of payments.

              This negative review pertains to the Branch online banking service, which is poorly managed. The same-day pay option, a feature touted as exclusive, fails to function properly. Persistent glitches and error codes plague the app on my Android device. Despite numerous calls for assistance, Tier I tech support was unable to resolve the issue. My ticket was escalated to Tier II with the highest priority, and I was informed that I would have to wait 12 days for a response. When the email finally arrived after an 8-day delay, the provided instructions were ineffective. Further complaints only yielded another set of futile directions, leaving me in the same predicament as before. Funds from my employer are inaccessible, and I am unable to complete transactions. Branch's customer service is non-existent, with excessively long wait times for tech support and inadequate communication from Tier II. I require direct phone assistance to navigate through the persistent errors and glitches, not incorrect email instructions. The process, supposedly simplified, is futile, with error codes and passcodes being rejected during login attempts, and my phone number is inexplicably already registered. This level of service is unacceptable, unprofessional, and reflects poorly on the company. I will never recommend Branch online banking to anyone.
