I would give a zero if I could for their customer service. We bought a French door from *****. The French door has the blinds in between the glass with a lever to make the blinds open/close or go up/down. A lever on one side of the door is broke and we called Jeld-Wen several times starting in June or July to get it replaced. Every time we called we got a different answer and finally was told they wont sell it to a customer, they only sell to the store where it was ********* we called and drove to Lowes multiple times to get this handled. We finally knew the name of the part and everything was handled, so we thought! They would deliver the part to Lowes. What could go wrong, right? Well, the part has been damaged or lost two times in transit to *****. The man at Lowes has done a wonderful job calling and emailing Jeld-Wen to follow up on this and then takes time to call us to give us updates. He feels terrible and is actually embarrassed we are having so many issues with getting a small part for a door that Jeld-Wen makes. So, hopefully this third time we will get the part for our door. It is sad this has been going on all summer and its still not fixed. Definitely go somewhere else where they are happy to help you!JELD-WEN Response

Terrible company I ordered an exterior door through **********. After 2 delays, the door was delivered damaged in September, and had to be reordered by **********. It is now November and we are being told the door will not arrive until the 11th. 5 months for a door, how very sad why ********** doesnt drop these guys is beyond any of their customersReview from William D

Purchased an exterior door with a 3/4 glass oval in the center. The window constantly makes loud popping noises throughout the day (and night) as the temperature warms or cools. Contacted Jel-Wen and was told these noises are normal and are not covered under the warranty since they do not affect the operation of the door. So, all day long I have to sit here in my house with the door only several feet from my living room constantly making these loud popping noises every 10 minutes as the outside temperature rises and then cools. For the money I spent I would have expected a better response from this company other then I have to basically just put up with it. Do not buy anything from this company.Review from Fred E

I would give a Zero star if allowed. Jeld-Wen is a company that is second- rate with inferior products and workmanship.We ordered a three (Three) Panel door in May 2024 through **********. The unit was installed at the end of June, the installers found out that the door opening was not squared correctly and another door had to be ordered. The new door dimensions were incorrect and was not installed in October ******** I am told another door needs to be ordered. There is no guarantee the door will work.We were told install our venetian blinds, or else they will not replace the door. ********** gave me a paper venetian blind that my wife and I have to go down on our knees to fold up every day. We are in our 70s, I am a Vietnam veteran with a slight disability, and it is difficult to do this daily for over 3 months so ******* we have to go through this again and for how long.When will this end?Never again, I would buy a Jeld-Wen product and I urge everyone to do the same.Review from Mrs. Sam S

We purchased a ******** Millwork fiberglass entry door system in 2013. It has been adequate until now. The exterior color is peeling off. I want to know if your 25 year warranty will cover this.Review from Teri G

Very poor customer service. I am required to send even more pictures than I already have. I don't want to give them any positive rating. They don't stand behind their product at all. Now I guess I see why they aren't BBB accredited and their response is the same on every one of these reviews. Not a person, just computer generated response.JELD-WEN Response

horrible windows! I replaced my windows so I could open my windows without flies coming in and now I have more flies than before! The screens are too small. we contacted them and they told us to contect the store where we purchased them, they sent replacement screens all the same size for 3 different size windows and they were the same size that was on the smallest window. contacted them again and had to send in receipts and pictures and have not heard anything back. Don't buy this brand window if you want to be ble to open them!! The flies are coming in with the windows closed!!JELD-WEN Response

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM JELDWEN. *********: We purchased a new home build through **********************. Just after 2 years, we had window seal failure on a number of windows. Because their warranty only covers 2 years for labour, we are on the hook for labour. Parts are 5 years. They've given reasons as to why seal failure occurs, which I'd understand if this was a one off situation. However, there are many homes in the development with the same issue, along with other ********* areas. This does not sit well with me. They are completely dismissive when I request a discussion regarding this, or an explanation as to why so many homes would face this problem. They circle back to their 2 year warranty. This is not sufficient. They should be responsible for the repair, knowing that it is a neigbourhood wide problem. I've asked the builder for assistance but they essentially dismiss this as it is after their warranty period. Overall awful service.Review from Thomas A

I spent $100k on JELD-WEN doors and windows for a new home. We moved in in December 2023. The front door pops open in the wind. It does not have a traditional latching mechanism. It has spring-tensioned rollers on the door that fit into detents on the door frame. It has a dead bolt for security. If the dead bolt is not engaged, you simply push on the door with enough force to overcome the spring tension to open the door. When we moved in, we discovered that the door would blow open with the force of a stiff breeze. Finding this unacceptable, we have had the installing dealer come out and adjust the tension. They have diligently adjusted it several times and it is now very difficult to open. A child cannot open the door. Yet it continues to blow open. JELD-WEN is not accepting any responsibility for the front door. I also got a call from them. Their position is essentially that they built the door as specified and they have no responsibility for the application that it is used in. It's an exterior door they designed and built, used in an exterior application that will not stay shut in the wind. I have asked for the specification for wind speed the door will withstand, but they have not provided it. Their warranty folks are polite but offer no assistance. It seems like they know there is an issue, but refuse to acknowledge it.JELD-WEN Response

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, THE WARRANTY IS AS GOOD TOILET PAPER! I purchased a front door and with the first rain the water poured into my home. The company states it's because there is not an overhang on the home, I have had two other doors without any problems.JELD-WEN Response
