So I signed up for there membership and went home and really went through financials and realized if my husband and I were to loss our job for any reason we wouldnt be able to afford it, so I called next day and explained all this and that it would be best to just go ahead and cancel it the guy was very understanding and said he would take care of this and so I didnt think nothing of it didnt even think that I should be getting a cancellation notice in the mail or anything like that and then all of a sudden a year later Im getting a bill for $15,000 to something that I thought I canceled well now its a my word against their word because they didnt put that into the system and now they expect me to at least pay **** and something dollars offer that just for them to go ahead and cancel it. I never used the membership at all because I thought it was canceled so when I had a camping trip with the family we couldve use that but I didnt use it because I thought I canceled it didnt even pay one month bill because I canceled it within 24 hours and I have proof of them having issues with updating your file because on several occasions Ive tried to update my address through email and several phone calls and I still get contacted that my address is not up-to-date so how do you put all the information in an email and talk to several different people but its still not updated just proves that I called they didnt put it in the system. They dont record phone conversations or anything so then you dont have that to go look up . .Business response

Travel Resorts of America say I have a membership with them, that I never knew I had. We had a permanent camp site at ***** World, the present name of *************** in ***********, **** for 42 years. *************** has had 4 different owners throughout the years. Travel Resorts of America bought *************** around 2011? When the previous owners **** and ***** owned it, my mom and dad transferred the lot and camper over to my husband and I, around ****? We then took over the payments of the dues. Which ran from Oct 1st each year to the following Oct 1st. We really haven't camped the past several years, because I've been taking care of my mom, who has now passed, and my elderly dad. But we continued paying the dues, because the camper was still setting on the lot. At the beginning of this summer 2023. I received a call and a certifide letter from *************** manager, **** asking if we wanted to remove the camper, or sign the title over to them. At the beginning of July 2023 we signed the title over. We thought that was the end of it. The dues were paid through Oct. 1st 2023. the camper was gone, we're done. Then we received a bill for the dues for **** season. I called and said we no longer camp there. The rep said I was suppose to call before Oct 1st 2023 to discontinue membership with them. I explained I never knew that. I told them I didn't even know I was a member with them. They said you've been paying the dues each year. I said we've been paying the dues through four different owners for 42 years. They're saying because I didn't call before Oct. 1st 2023 to discontinue membership, I have to pay the dues for **** before they can review the cancellation of membership. I told the rep, I would have called if I knew I had to. She said the information was in the contract. I keep explaining that I never saw or signed or received a contract. She said we signed a contract in **** when the camper was transferred over to us, and that membership was then transferred over to them when they purchased ***************. I said then shouldn't we have received a contract, or signed something with Travel Resorts of America. How are we suppose to know what to do, if the contract we signed was with a different owner years before they bought it. She keeps taking notes and saying she will call me back, but never does. This last time I asked to speak to a supervior. She said she'd put it in her notes. I just keep getting the bill. Can you please help me get this resolved? Thank you!Business response

I have called on several occasions left voicemails. I have also called and talked to people on several occasions. I have sent several emails, all of which I was told that I would get contacted regarding me wanting to cancel my membership. I got on the website and contacted impact teams that travelresorts.com for cancellation as it states. Per your website email is invalid. I notified a team member within 48 hours of signing up for this contract that I wish to cancel. I signed up on Saturday. I called to cancel on Monday. I have still yet to hear back from anybody regarding this. Your website directly says I have 30 days to cancel. Your company is refusing to contact me to cancel this contractBusiness response

In April 2023 we were scheduled for a Zoom mtg to discuss our membership (since 2018). The Zoom was terminated early following discussion with our original Zoom hosts Supervisor after we expressed concerns about several things related to how the meeting was described versus what it was about, as well as our facilitators knowledge in answering our questions, etc.We have taken some time to digest what we did learn, as well as our overall experience. We have decided our best choice given our experiences is to end our membership, which is fully paid off and all maintenance dues are current. In an effort to reach the organization to discuss next steps 6/19, I was repeatedly hung up on using various contact numbers/switchboards. After well over an hour of this, I was finally successful and told that an email was being sent by employee #**** to the cancellation request department to initiate this request. Other staff I spoke to (before being disconnected) told me they did not have employee ID numbers, but I did document names provided, in case this is called into question.I received a call today from an employee who indicated she was told we wanted to purchase an opt out option. When I notified her that we do not desire to spend additional thousands of dollars to end our relationship, I was provided the number to the member services ***** as my only recourse-which was a number I never successfully connected to despite multiple attempts just the day before.We are beyond frustrated with the customer service and business practices of this company, right down to our efforts to end our relationship with them. This complaint is in an effort to assure that we are indeed contacted to get resolution on this matter via the immediate ending of our membership without additional payment, as past attempts at interacting with the company directly have not been encouraging.Business response

So much false advertising. I was reluctant to purchase but they kept insisting that the Coast to Coast membership that it came along with was worth it. That it had resorts in every state in the best locations. We joined when it was Midwest Outdoor Resorts and every year, the maintenance fees get higher and higher. They never even told us what the cost of those maintenance fees were, let alone they were in the $500 range, every year, regardless of whether or not you even used any of the facilities or the website. On top of this, I had issues even reserving sites at the start because they kept putting things in my husband's name instead of mine, despite the fact that I emptied my own savings account for it. I was told that they did that because my name was 'too hard to spell or pronounce'. Racist much? Also having a difficult time trying to cancel. A person from member services told me they can't even consider canceling unless I paid the most recent maintenance fees, that they can't even look at the account because it's locked until I pay. That's not how technology works. They also said I would have to pay MORE MONEY to consider canceling. I was told an 'exit' team would call me to help cancel and they called me while I was working so I couldn't answer. Tried calling back and got what sounds like someone answering a home phone with their tv on, and saying I need to call ****** Services (again). I just want to get rid of this account and I can't morally feel right 'selling' it to another unsuspecting person. This is the biggest scam on earth and I struggle to see how the people who work here are ok with that. I literally DO NOT USE any of the services, and haven't for the past two years. Most of the coast to coast resorts (which wasn't even mentioned to us that we have to PAY MORE MONEY EVERY YEAR to use) are in the worst locations. Not a single one in **********, for example (despite being told they're in every state).Business response

I am a travel nurse and having been planning a trip/travel assignment in ******** since Janurary. I booked a reservation with ********* ** Resort park on 2/27/23 with an arrival date of 5/28/23 till 6/11/23. I reserved a spot with a 50amp full hook up. Meaning I would have access to empty my gray and black tanks at my leisure when needed along with electricity and water. I was informed on 2/27/23 that my reservation was all set by person at Travel Resorts of America. When I arrived on 5/28/23, the site that I thought was full hook up wasn't. The site has a 50amp hook up for my electricity and I have water, but I do not have a spot to dump my waste on the ** site. I immediately called the front office and was informed that this is the site I booked back on 2/27/23. I explained to ***** (assist manager) that I booked a full hook up site. With that being said, I did not have access to seeing the site prior to booking and I was solely going off the person booking the site for me. This person works for Travel Resorts of America. I was informed by assistant manager at ********* that they (********* ** Resort) would give me 3 complimentary "honey wagon" dumps. Meaning someone would come to my site and empty my black and gray tanks. After the 3 complimentary dumps, I (the paying customer) would have to pay $12.00 for each dump. I spoke to a very ignorant manager with Travel Resorts of America named ****, that informed me that I pretty much would have to pay the $12.00 for each dump while staying at ********* Resort. **** also informed me that she would pull the telephone call from 2/27/23 to see what was said and "if she found out anything she would call me back." I DO NOT think it is fair that I have to pay for each dump for someone that booked my reservations incorrectly. I pay a small fortune every month to be a member with Travel Resorts of America and my monthly fees should be able to pay for this, not me! Any help would be greatly appreciated. This company continues to telemarket me, always from spoofed numbers within my area code. Despite being on the do not call list and specifically asking each time to be removed, they continue. Sometimes 3-4 times per day. The agents are rude and sometimes slam down the phone when asking to be removed.Business response

SOLD A COMPLETE LIE! TOLD WE COULD USE FOR $20 at the locations. NEVER! the case! This business was Sold to ********** called and tried to get ** to sign a new contract for something we have NEVER! been able to use as stated when purchasing.TRA Representatives called and stated they have great news and set up a meeting over the phone , stated they had great news & wanted to go over with **? A ********** talked a lot of lies and we where ********* & bullied in an attempt to sign a new contract & pay an additional $4995????!!!!! These people should be prosecuted & held accountable for there ********************** have been able to use, every where we attempted they said not true!!!!! I am rejecting this response because:The response is a TOTAL!! Fabrication!! The supposedly MEETING was to tell you that TRAVEL RESORTS OF AMERICA was requesting additional $4995 in addition to the $6000 we all ready paid to them and received NOTHING! but **** & FABRICATIONS in the sales meeting in ********, and ATTEMPT to get ** to SIGN a NEW CONTRACT!
The only thing TRAVEL RESORTS REPRESENTATIVES where concerned with in this meeting was DECEPTION, **** again & blame others that you could no longer speaks too!! And try to ******* ANOTHER $5000 from **!!
In your response you state we could use memberships at certain locations for $10 a night! Another LYE! We have yet to receive any benefits from this membership as stated and contracted, every where we try to use the membership, we are told THATS NOT TRUE! IT IS MORE!!!
This is a formal request for ALL funds paid to Travel Resorts of America due to FRAUD/ DECEPTIVE STATEMENTS in order to entice people to sign a Contract! DONOT BE FOOLED! IF ITS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, ITS PROBABLY NOT TRUE!!!!!!

My husband who is a disabled combat war vet and I purchase a camping membership back in January from travel Resorts of America , at one of their presentations, and financed through **************************. During the presentation we were informed that this is nothing like a timeshare and could cancel any time they reassuring ** of that due to my husband and Is medical issues. Ive called twice trying to cancel. I spoke with *********. She said she was a Director of memberships. She told me under no circumstance could I cancel the membership because I had it financed I reiterated what the sales rep told us the day we signed the contract and she said we were missed informed and we cannot cancel. I asked to speak to someone above her she said the only one above her is the owner, *************************** and said there is no way that he would call me. I asked her three more times if theres anyone I could speak with besides her and she said she is the only person next in line would be the owner and she cannot cancel the membership. I told her how can we be informed one thing during a sales presentation and be told something else four months later. She just kept repeating theres no way to cancel until I pay the ****** off she said when you pay the $****** you can cancel it I told her why cant they prorate it charge me for the months we had the membership and refund the balance to the finance company she said, because then they would be out money, I told her no if Im not utilizing the membership, they would not be out any money. Its just refunding unused membership. I told her I could provide doctors notes and she said that only matters if we are paid in full. I am very frustrated because they told me I could cancel did not give a time limit and could cancel even though it was finance so I was basically lied to and trusted a sales rep and now stuck owing $****** .Business response
