    When calling American HomePatient & explaining my daughter's not adjusting well to the CPAP and will be seeking for the doctor to discontinue it, for an alternative method. The person said to me 'I really do not care what you do!' Then once they received a fax from the doctor to discontinue the CPAP and that an alternative method will be used to combat sleep apnea. I was faced again with unprofessional service upon my returning the unit. Their employee still wanted us to sign a form for billing stating that the return of the equipment was against medical advice, which is not truthful. When I refused to sign it, she told me I had to sign or take it home and they will continue charging insurance for it. I refused to sign and refused to take it home and requested a copy of the doctors fax. They did provide a copy of the fax and it stated to discontinue the CPAP an alternative method will be used. If we were to of signed the form she gave us, it would be untruthful and we would become responsible to its past use since her form said 'against medical advice'. I requested that she prepare an accurate form showing the doctor did in fact discontinue the equipment. She then came back with a different form, but still not stating truth as for the reason of returning the equipment. This time she typed in 'condition improved' as reason for return. Another untruth, as her condition did not improve, she simply is using a different method. I again refused to sign, she again said angrily that either i sign or take it home and they will continue to charge the insurance company. I refused to sign or take it home. I requested corporate # which she gave me and then she got the manager. She claimed they only had those two choices to give on the form to give to billing. The manager crossed out what she had typed. He then hand written what the doctors statement was for discontinuing the unit and signed his name to it. I requested a copy and he pleasantly suppled a copy.
