Would like to warn others of the poor quality work and lack of making it right. We bought a home three years ago that Conner Roofing had done a complete roof one year prior making the roof 4 years old. Just this year after a heavy rain we had several leaks start. Reported to out homeowners insurance ****. That same night **** contacted ******************* to come over with fans and they broke into the ceiling in several places that were leaking and had water stains on the ceiling. ********** got on the roof and advised this is one of the worst roofing jobs they have every seen. From wrong nails used to cheap products and a job not totally completed around a sky light and chimney. **** advised they would not cover this because it was poor quality work done by Conner Roofing and that we needed to contact Conner Roofing to make it right and follow up on any warranty hoping they were good people and come fix what they destroyed. Owner came out and blamed it on everything but his work. Blamed the leaking on the TOP of the roof from the facia on the house. After several weeks we called them back only to receive an estimate of over 2 grand to come out and replace a skylight and the finishing around the fireplace. Basically wanted to charge us again for their mistakes. When asking around town we found no one that was satisfied with their work. Long story short, ********** *********** had to come out and try and seal as much of the roof as they can until we can get a new roof with the money out of our own pocket next summer. Save yourself a lot of heartache and do not use this company that doesn't stand by their name.

    Conner Roofing Co., Inc. Response

First off, I understand ******** position and hope that this helps explain why the situation is the way that it is. I'm not sure what ******************* is talking about with the wrong nails. We used 1 1/4" galvanized roofing nails like 99.9% of roofing companies do and that the shingle manufacturers recommend. The shingles that we used were ************** shingles, one of the most popular and trusted manufacturers in the U.S. The two major leaks that were occurring were due to a faulty skylight and the flashing around the chimney. When we roofed this house back in 2014 for the previous owner, I noticed both were in poor condition and recommended they be replaced. I gave the owners a price to replace the skylight and a price to re-flash the chimney. They choose not to do either so that is how the roof was done. A few months later the skylight leaked and I went back to repair it the best that I could. I added a piece of flashing to the top of the skylight to divert water away from it and I caulked all the way around the base of the skylight to try to keep the water from getting to the flashing. I never heard back from the previous owner so I assumed that it took care of the problem. The flashing around the chimney has pulled away from the brick even further than it was back in 2014, like I warned the previous owner that it would. It's situations like this that explains why companies don't transfer the warranty to the buyers when they buy a house. They do not know the situations that existed between the company and the previous owners. They choose not to do the things that I recommended and now the areas are a problem. Finally, it's easy for a company to come in and put down another company especially when they don't know all the facts; but to say that we used cheap products and the wrong nails is just wrong. Now the ******* are going to spend way too much money replacing a roof that just needs a few repairs.
