My current balance is $431.67 which is absolutely crazy. I have not went to planet fitness for almost two years now and they've been trying to charge my old card ever since. The Last time I went was the beginning of quarantine in McKeesport, PA and didn't go anymore due to me moving to a different state and not being able to cancel. When I moved from McKeesport, PA to Stone Mountain, GA and went to the nearest planet fitness they said there's no possible way for them to cancel it I would need to go to the gym I originally signed up for in person which I couldn't do if I moved to a different state. I'm not paying that crazy balance at all for the simple fact I didn't go let alone why would you continue charging me if you clearly could see I haven't been paying the bill or going but try to rack up over $400 and expect the customer to pay it when a whole pandemic was going on ? I would like the complete balance waived so I can start going back to the gym thanks.Business response

In October of 2019 I signed up for a membership at the Atlantic Beach location of Planet Fitness. I signed up for myself and was told that I could bring my son as a guest. When the covid shutdowns were enacted I called the gym and told them that I would like to cancel my membership and the staff told me that I could not cancel my membership and that I would have to come in in person. This is my primary complaint as this protocol was forcing people into public movement which was unreasonable considering covid cautions and restrictions. My suspicion is that this is also illegal, and Planet Fitness later changed this requirement although they still had forced me to pay all along via automatic withdrawals. Secondly I did go in in person to cancel my membership in September and since then they have continued to Bill me apparently for my son.Business response

I let them know I was calling from the Planet Fitness in Saint Augustine and I was calling regarding their account and situation that was mentioned in the details listed.
