We received Bed Bath and Beyond Gift Cards for our wedding and when I went onto the BB&B website to use them toward the purchase of furniture, it said the number was invalid. When I called the customer service number on the gift card for help, a woman answered saying she was BB&B customer care and and before hearing what I was calling about, she tried to pressure sell me into accepting a free life alert type of device just by giving her all of my personal info. The number is **************. Of course I hung up and then called the customer service number on the website which is **************. This rep told me that my gift cards can no longer be used because BB&B has closed all brick and mortar stores and is now is run by Overstock and their online service. I have been a loyal customer of both of these companies for many years but regardless, how is it reasonable or legal in anyway for this to occur? We were gifted quite a bit of money for our wedding via BB&B gift cards and now the old company gets to keep the money and the buyer (Overstock) does not have to honor them? The back of the gift card reads *********** fee or expiration dates are connected with the use of this gift card". The rep from ********* said that does not apply here because they aren't expired gift cards, they are gift cards that can no longer be honored. I feel that this should have been handled (especially at this level of a merger/buyout). All I want is to be able to use the dollar amount gifted to us by our friends and family toward purchases on items through BB&B or even Overstock at this point. Or refund the people that gave us the gift cards. This occurred on 6/3/24 at 7pm.

Over the past year, since Bed Bath and Beyond went bankrupt and cancelled my card, the balance of which I paid off, I have been billed for purchases I never made. I have called them and written to them . Here is what I sent them this morning:"I have told you repeatedly over the past year that I have not had a BBB account since you filed for bankruptcy and canceled my card. I have called and written to you. You have confirmed via phone that I do not have an account. Yet, I get a bill every month and the balance goes up. I am reporting this to the better Business Bureau so I am not held accountable for any delinquency."

I have three gift cards from having my baby shower that Bed Bath and Beyond are not honoring despite them saying "there is no expiration date". They created an arbitrary expiration date with the ownership change without notifying those with gift cards creating a loss of $300 dollars for me. This is an immoral company that does not honor its debts that were assumed when acquiring with new ownership. I will never use them again for purchases, gifts or registries as they can not be trusted. I called customer service multiple times and received no compensation.

I was gifted a gift card from Bed Bath and Beyond and I cannot use it. This gift card has an 8 digit pin and the website only allows me to put 4 digits. The back of my gift card says, ********** fees or expiration dates are connected with the use of this gift card and yes on the website, it says that if it was purchased before August 2023, it is unusable and therefore l should be able to receive a replacement.

We received a gift card from my in laws of $150 in 2022 when my daughter was born, it's 2024 and I decided to use it to decorate her toddler room . I attempted to use it online and was unable to. I called Bed Bath and Beyond and was informed the 16 digit cards with pin with 8 numbers were invalid, no longer accepted. When I called they said overstock took over BBB and they couldn't do anything. So Bed ***************************** got paid $150 and the customer who paid isn't able to use that gift card? That's fraud!!Anyone who received a gift card prior to them getting purchased by ********* should receive a credit of the amount purchased! This is a complete scam!

Bed Bath & Beyond is not honoring a gift card that has ~$80 remaining on its balance. Gift cards are not coupons or discounts, they represent real dollars spent at their business, with the expectation that those funds are available to use for later purchases. Their own website proudly proclaims that "Gift cards never expire!" However they are not honoring any gift card purchased before a certain date. This seems like an outright theft to me. I want the money that I paid on the gift card back, or I want a discount in the amount on the gift card. I'd also like for this practice to be investigated as it should be illegal to collect money for gift cards and then not honor them.
