After an appointment, and trying to alert the proper channels within this office to no avail, I have decided to write this review in hopes that it will alert others. The main complaint is a HIPAA violation. As we sat in the waiting area, the front staff member was answering all phone calls on speaker phone. I heard each and every callers name, DOB, address, phone number, and reason for calling. In addition to the blatant disregard for patient privacy, the dark long haired receptionist hung up from one phone call and said "what an ass". This all came after we waited at least 5 mins to be acknowledged to check in as we watched the same receptionist text and scroll through ********* on her computer (we were eventually checked in by another staff that came over from the eye glass area). The receptionist that didn't acknowledge us was busy planning her wedding. When we checked out, the same receptionist didn't make eye contact, I said "Hi! we're checking out" and she didn't say hi, or even raise her head to look at us, just said "Last name?" then told us to call in a month, and continued talking about her wedding to someone else while we waited for our prescription to print out. All together, a very poor experience. Dr. S**** however was lovely and had I had the chance to speak with her (she saw my teen) I would have brought all of this to her attention since my later phone call was met with no available manager, or offer of a time to speak with one. The HIPAA is my biggest concern - that is never ok to disclose info, no matter how minor.

I have not heard from this patient, and it would have been nice if she had contacted me to discuss this prior. I have voicemail patients are welcome to leave a message on and I have an email that the staff will give out if asked for. I can't help people unless they let me know there is problem. We installed glass around our front desk at the start of Covid and our elderly patients and some of our younger patients and staff have a difficult time hearing through it.
