            They signed me up for a 'Care Credit' credit card WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I received the ** in the mail and thought my identity had been stolen. Only after calling the ** company did I learn that the dentist office had opened a card in my name. This is shady and caused a lot of anxiety. I am furious that this has happened - I have never experienced this at any other doctor office. I assume they get some sort of commission or kick-back for signing up unsuspecting patients.

            Mr Sloyer, In all our initial patient orientation prior to engaging in the patient/doctor and consumer/merchant relationship we ask disclose how we operate. In your case you asked us to rely on the contract of the dental benefits which we honor/ed/ We discussed both assignment of benefits and your responsibility for a deductible and copay where necessary. We introduced the billing program as a form of payment for these deductibles and copay. You and the dentist then considered a restoration and IF you were to proceed, what your out of pocket responsibility would be. We discussed paying at once or using the billing program. You did not decide to move forward, we did not access your billing program. We are sorry this created upset in expectations and there was NO financial responsibility out of pocket for the services we rendered. You do not owe anything for any services not covered by the dental benefits for the services rendered as that portion of the care did not require a deducible or copay.
