I have received a call today (07/29/2024) from *****, they have had my vehicle since (06/02/2024) and are now finding more work in the brake system, first we called an assistance organization to help reduce costs and ***** thought they were a scam and dismissed them, they quoted us $865.30, after we paid $335.00 to get the repairs started (06/24/2024) they sent the technician on vacation for 2 weeks without notice, then they put him on another job, so he didn't even start it until (07/26/2024), we finished the initial estimate also on (07/26/2024), now (07/29/2024) they say threads are damaged on a part, and they will keep the costs low, but we are on fixed income until we get our vehicle back, so we do not have room for even low costs.

Consumer stated she received a voicemail from the business stating she could come and pick up the vehicle. Her husband went to get the vehicle and was told they are not releasing the vehicle until the complaint is removed.

The vehicle was brought into our shop, at about 5/24/24. We gave an initial estimate quickly and asked for money down in deposit before repairs were made. She made a deposit and said , it will be a while before I can come up with the money. We kindly and generously did not charge storage.

I dont understand us, thinking the charitable organization offer to help was a scam. We work with hardship cases on occasion without question. We work with St Hillarys all the time, without any issues. We did everything St Hillarys requested as usual, but a payment was not forthcoming. Why they did not help make payments is unknown to us.

After many, many days, she called and told us and said she will have the money and to finish repairs. The technician whom had been working on it, was on a vacation that lasted seven business days. We waited til he came back and did the job in a reasonable time frame.

This Vehicle is 22 years old and of course, understandably, we found a little more work that had to be done. This is something that is common and required to complete the repairs for a safe and reliable vehicle. The explanation was given and permission was given.

This dispute for the entire amount of repairs for any of claimed reasons are truly unreasonable. We see no reason for any kind of refund, therefore; there will be no compensation offered.

There must be a misunderstanding in, they can pick up the car anytime. However; the balance owed on the bill must be paid before taking possession of the car. They were always aloud to pick up the car.
From the way I understand it, ***** was going to let have a loan and take it, but since they filed a complaint unfairly, the favor has been rescinded.

On or around November 25th 2021, My partner took my 2015 **** Explorer to Akron Auto Clinic complaining that our power steering was not working correctly. Our steering wheel had started becoming tight as you turned and eventually locked up and could not turn at all. We had our car inspected by akron auto clinic and they told us our rack and pinion was bad. Charged us ******** to replace a REFURBISHED rack and pinion. We received our vehicle back on December 13 2021, and two weeks later our power steering started to do the exact same thing. We returned the vehicle to the shop because we did pay for a warranty on the rack and pinion. They call us telling us that it was something else and tried to charge us another 750 dollars to fix the problem. My complaint comes in where I believe that the rack and pinion was not the initial problem..it was the most expensive thing that they chose to fix instead of fixing the problem. So now it is Febuary 1 2022 and my power steering is still messed up after paying **** dollars.

Please be advised, we understand the customers concerns and we can assure you the repairs performed were necessary and done correctly. The vehicle was towed in and needed a steering rack, our testing made that very clear. We made repairs and throughly tested the vehicle. We worked with the customer, let him use our loaner and stored the vehicle at no charge till he could pay for it..The vehicle left in good working order, but still had other safety needs and the customer declined further repairs. The vehicle was driven back in, not towed, like before, with a customer complaint of having the same problem. We checked it over, found it wasnt the same problem, however; it, to some degree, appeared similar. This time there were no codes in the computer. completely disabling the steering like before. We found the shaft to the rack coming from the steering wheel was now bad and needed replaced. The tires that still need replaced were still causing pulling problem and are still a safety issue.

The rack we had replaced was the repair that was needed. The next problem it came for, weeks later can be repaired with additional work, replacing the steering shaft. The right thing to do, is to do the needed repairs at the customers expense.

I am rejecting this response because:I feel it is their responsibility to fix the problem..I have had other mechanics say that they may have bent the shaft while fixing the rack and pinion...I feel I paid **** dollars and I got ripped off because I still have a broke car...there also was a core charge for the rack and pinion and they kept that money as well..I feel I was over charged and the job was not done correctly
