Purchased two identical knives on November 1, 2022. On November 12 both knives broke. I Immediately notified Summit Armory for replacement or refund. Cost was $198.53, paid cash. I have a receipt. I called Summit and was told they do not refund or replace. I followed up with an email to *** *********, owner and was sent a voice mail by him a copy of which is attached. His response to an existing client disturb me greatly and I believe constitutes a breech of fair practice. I have all the documents for your investigation. U

      ********, **** ********

In regards to this complaint I have attached some photos.
The customer Called in and was very rude. Demanding a refund. My employee ***** ( I was standing next to him and heard this) explained to him our store policies. ***** also stated that if you contact the manufacturer they will replace the broken knives. The customer refused to give us any details. After seeing his knife model, I am positive the knives were not broken. It may have been a user error. The Out The Front knife has a safety feature that prevents injury. Just pull on the blade and it resets. He demanded a refund. We said no. He then stated that he purchased a gun from us in the past and has a friend that purchases ammo from us. He said It would be a shame for me to lose their business. "We will take our business elsewhere" is what he said. As you can see in the voicemail I left him, I told him not to come back to my store if you are going to threaten me about losing business. I do not tolerate blackmail.  He hasn't been in my store since April of 2021. I believe he is trying to make my company look bad over something he blew out of proportion. Mr ******* wrote " Breech of Fair Practice" He has clearly done this to other businesses. I think that applies to insurance fraud. I am not an attorney.

I will NOT refund Mr ******* his money. If he wasn't Rude and malicious I may have shipped the knives back for him.

I am rejecting this response because:

My first question is why did I have to ask ***** to have the owner, *** *********, to call me if indeed he was standing next to him. I did not demand anything but was asking what Summit Armory what they could do to make things right. I was not even asked about the broken knives. I have purchased items there and was satisfied.  Upon returning a rifle, Summit did take it back and I bought another. As for his recollection of when I was in his store last, April 2021, he is mistaken. I have been there many times since then. Why he made that statement makes me wonder if he even knows who I am, not that it matters. My statement to him was that if he treats customers the way he treated me, he will develop a bad reputation. I actually like Tim, but he is now running a big business and needs to help solve problems, not pass the buck to the manufacturer. “He has clearly done this to other businesses “ That statement by him is not only false, but libelous. No, I am not an attorney, but I have been in business for 51 years, 30 of which were as an insurance agent. I cannot remember any complaint made against me or any of my agents. *** just didn’t handle this in a professional manner. Maybe he’ll learn.

I have returned the knife to Boker. The other knife was opened up and voided any warranty..

Please find enclosed a copy of my letter to Boker USA, Inc. thanking them for their speedy resolution of the above. I wish to thank you for your help. As far as I am concerned, the matter is now closed. I can only ask that you enter it into a permanent file for Summit Armory. Mr. *********'s statement that “He has clearly done this to other businesses”, has ramifications that might cost him legal
