Safety for the future. Today (8:45 am) Just north of pearl and grafton rd in brunswick Ohio a 2 man team Consisting of a gradeall operator and laborer were working. I believe from the interactions though the roles were reversed. I believe the more senior man was out of the machine and instructing a new operator. In order for the children to get on the bus this morning they had to cross between the Gradeall that was working/facing north and the dump truck parked 50' to the south. Meaning the operator had to swing his boom blind side towards the children in order to avoid traffic. As the bus approached, the more senior man on the ground took notice and quickly began signaling the operator. The buck lowered and the unit Idled down. Here's why I'm writing. After the bus left I couldn't make out all of the conversation but the man on the ground was stern and direct. What I could here was to the effect of "Kids, close, power down don't move". We couldn't hear the operator but the man on the ground replied. "I know, I don't care, You Don't MOVE!". The company lost at most 2 minutes keeping children safe and gained a huge amount of respect from the public. Special thank you to the guy on the ground who made it clear this isn't a debate. Good people make a good company.
