I had high hopes for Glasgow Construction based on my parents' positive experience with their kitchen remodel. This review isn't about their workmanship but about their poor handling of my project, which led me to cut ties before any construction began. If you're considering them, get everything in writing and demand a project timeline upfront. I lost months and thousands of dollars due to their mismanagement. In my initial meeting with Andrew, I provided a detailed scope, selected appliances, tiles, backsplash, cabinets, counters, and even had CAD renderings for the project. I was also very transparent about how much I had to spend on the remodel, and Andrew assured me that my budget was reasonable. This is where the issues started. Glasgow demands a hefty design consultation fee before giving a quote, which I reluctantly paid after a second round of assurances. The design consultation with Ellen was a mess. She was overextended, communication was poor, and progress was painfully slow. Then, after three months of constantly chasing them down for updates, their quote ended up coming in over 50% higher than my budget! When I questioned the discrepancy, Andrew and Ellen deflected, blaming my budget despite my clear transparency. Andrew's "solution" was to suggest cheap materials and eliminate essential design elements, completely disregarding my vision. To add insult to injury, Andrew refused to refund any part of the design consultation fee, even admitting their estimates were wildly inaccurate and communication was poor. Dealing with Glasgow was extremely frustrating, and I cannot recommend them. If you do consider them, get everything in writing and be prepared for frustration... Or save yourself the headache and find a more trustworthy contractor.
