On June 10, 2022, I met with "*****" from Right at Home, a caregiver agency. I needed an aide for my husband who suffered a stroke.
At our meeting, he asked for a security deposit of 924.00, since the agency's services matched my needs. However, i learned that the agency did not.
The next day, a caregiver/aide came at ten o'clock (time agreed) but was unable to help because she was not familiar with the lifts used to move patients from one place to another. We spent her time researching "lifts" on the internet. No services whatsoever were provided my husband. She never touched my husband.
The next day, I expected an aide to come. I had explained to ***** that I needed an aide at ten o'clock every morning, seven days a week. But by ten-thirty no caregiver/aide came. I then called the agency and told the woman who answered that I had been waiting for an aide who should have been at our home at ten o'clock. She advised that no one was available at that time and that she would send someone out later in the day. I told her that would not work. I needed someone immediately --that I had contracted for ten o'clock in the mornings.
After I hung up, I called an aide I knew to see if she could help on an emergency basis. She said that she could help and came to the house immediately.
After the aide left, I called Right at Home to cancel their service and to return my deposit. "Gretchen" of RAH said that she would not do that. I told her to deduct the one day that the aide came, even though she did nothing.
We finally agreed that RAH should at least refund half of the deposit, or $410.00. Weeks went by, then months and no refund check. I called RAH several times and "*****" assured me that a check for $410.00 would be mailed out to me, but nothing has.
My last call to RAH was in November, and no check has been sent. I want RAH to refund the total amount of $410, which they agreed to. They knew that they did not deliver services. This was a business transaction.
