On May 18, 2023, I purchased a 2013 black Buick Regal "as is". They asked for a $1300 down payment. But I could only pay $1250 as a down payment. The Bill of Sale is at the bottom of a stack of papers, about 10 pages, adn it said the car was being sold for $18,000.
They wanted $250 by 6.1.23. Then they wanted another $200 on 6.15.23.
I didn't take the car off the lot as I didn't have insurance. They were in a hurry for me to get the car off the lot. I picked it up on 5.31.23. I went into the hospital on 6.1.23.
I went in at least twice to discuss the payments. I explained I get a check on the 1st and 3rd of every month. I offered to give them my bank information, but they didn't want it. ********** wife, ****, said I should pay over the phone.
On 6.1.23, when she called I was in ***** at the ER. Two days later, the 3rd, I called her and I said, I could note give her a payment over the phone. She sent me an email. She said all you have to do is go to the end page, process payment and hit submit. I told her I could not do it.
They repossessed the car and charged me $350 for repossession fees.
I went to Legal Aid and began working with an attorney who mailed them a letter on my behalf. Patrick said the business refused to either return the car or refund the money. He told me to contact the BBB and OAG, or seek my own personal counsel.
