At the end of January 2021, we visited Mc Swain Carpets and explained to the sales lady that we were looking for a tightly woven,low nap carpet in a dark beige tone. This was very important, since as we told the sales lady, we have cats who had pulled the fibers out of our previous rug and stained it every time they spit up. She steered us to a lighter carpet, thicker as well and more expensive but assured us that this carpet was stain -resistant (20 year warranty,) with a very tight weave, so that our cats would not be able to pull out fibers.
After the carpet was installed, we noticed regular piles of fibers pulled out by our cats and stains that were impossible to remove. We then contacted McSwain's service department who told us that we would need to have the carpet professionally cleaned which we did ($65) before they would do an inspection. The inspector came, did some tests, and said we would hear from the mill about our request to have the carpet replaced. Even though we submitted all the papers, receipts and proof that we had done as requested, McSwains refused to replace the carpet or honor the warranty. Obviously the carpet is not stain- resistant, nor cat-proof and we feel cheated by McSwains
