Took my son's truck here to get the transmission rebuilt. Truck ran great. Only issue was the overdrive light on the dash would come on after a short drive then it would shift hard going into second gear. They had the truck over 6 months. Called and said it was done. I paid around $3200 when I went to pick it up. I go to leave with the truck and it's spitting and sputtering and won't go over 15 miles an hour. I immediately turned around and took it back. They wouldn't refund my money. They told me the ECM was bad and there wasn't anything they could do to fix it. Don't take your vehicle to Brownies Independent Transmission on Dixie! Worst shop out there. I've heard a ton of other people with similar complaints from this place since I got my truck back from them (which i had to trailer home). I wish zero stars was possible.

Mr. C***** vehicle arrived at Brownies it! shops in March of 2023 with both a transmission issue and an engine running problem as documented on our checkout sheet prior to ever working on the vehicle.   Brownies repaired the transmission to the truck.  Prior to paying for the repairs, Mr. C**** was informed that his engine ran so poorly that it would have to be addressed in order for us to properly warranty our transmission. He signed our invoice agreeing to those terms and acknowledging he understood.  Brownies did not damage Mr. C****’ vehicle, we only made him aware of the totality of his issues.  In situations like this, we do our best to explain that the transmission repairs will not fix all of the vehicle’s problems, and help the customer make wise decisions on what to do with the vehicle.  We at Brownies it! shops understand that not every car is worth investing a transmission repair into, but we always have an honest conversation about that before we do the work.        
It looked like an animal (mouse or squirrel) chewed up numerous wires in the engine compartment which we connected together to get the transmission shifting properly, in addition to the rebuild of the transmission and torque converter. Mr. C**** vehicle no longer has the “hard shifts” that he complained about when he dropped off his 2006 Ford Ranger with over 170,000 miles on it on 3/17/23. Our work fixed the “hard shifts” problem.
Mr. C**** transmission and torque converter no longer has “hard shifts” as he complained about when he first dropped off his vehicle.  However, the engine needs repaired as written on Attachment #1.  The engine and transmission work together and both must work properly for the other one to work properly, however Mr. Comb’s vehicle does not shift hard because of the work we did. 
Mr. C**** is driving around town being propelled by our rebuilt Torque Converter and rebuilt Transmission which is changing gears and shifting smoothly.
