I wish I had looked at the reviews before placing an online order. I placed an order on October 26th, all the items shipped separately, one item arrived broken (and the broken piece was not in the package so it was presumably packed up and sent to me already broken), then on November 10th I was told that the rest of my order (half of my total order) was canceled because it was out of stock (which all but 2 things were and still are in stock) but that I could reorder them (????) and call them to try to get reimbursed for the price differences and for shipping (make it make sense). I asked customer service to escalate my issue to someone who could tell me why my order was canceled and now I have to jump through hoops to get the items I order over 2 weeks ago, which they refused to do and signed the email until next time. I simply responded oh, there will not be a next time. Terrible service and even worse customer service.Review from Judy F

Feel store made an additional $50 for themselves from an EXCHANGE. Told policy for cash return is 1/2 of lowest price without receipt, which I understand. BUT, this was an exchange of an unopened package. So returned $54 package of unopened blades (wrong size for my cutter) for $35 package. Received only $14 credit and paid difference for the lesser priced package. Store could place higher priced returned package on shelf and resell.Review from Kihra S

I placed an order for yarn on Thursday October 31. Their online stock was showing 8, so I bought all 8 skeins. I chatted with customer service on Tuesday to see if they had any update about my order because I had not received a tracking number. I was told that it takes them up to 6 business days to pack and ship (who takes 6 days to ship something out?!?!) By the following Thursday my order still had not been shipped. I received an email this morning (Saturday) that my order had been cancelled because the items were no longer available. Im upset. I need this yarn to make Christmas gifts What a terrible way to run a business.Review from Laura C

Based on internet research, the Gaithersburg store had six of what I wanted to buy. So, I went out of my way and low and behold they did not have one in stock. I tracked down a store *** and she was absolutely HORRIBLE. She just shrugged her shoulders and did not apologize at all!A sorry wouldve at least made me feel a little better.But she was cold as all get out and provided absolutely no customer service. Placed an order on-line for in-store pickup (plenty of stock reflected). The on-line ordering system took my order, received my credit card information and replied with a confirmation email reflecting the order number and stating an email would tell me when it was ready for pick-up. After 3 days, I had not received the promised email. A call to the store revealed the order number could not be found in their system and the employee stated that I must have placed it at another store (this particular **-*** Fabrics address of ************************************************************************** was clearly shown on the confirmation email). Why did I receive a confirmation email if the order had not been placed? Why couldn't the person answer my question at the store when I called? Why wouldn't she put me through to the store manager or district manager? Is this "loss of an order" a fraudulent business practice or a scam to get my personal information and credit card number?After an hour on the phone (first with the store employee, then followed by customer service), the order was re-input. Employees at this store need to be better trained on the on-line ordering system. If they do not know the answer, then the call needs to be transferred to the store manager or district manager.This is not the first complaint about the on-line ordering system with this store. If, for some reason you need to return what was ordered, I have run into issues receiving back the full amount of taxes. Employees need to learn how to deal with e-commerce. I do not have these issues with other businesses when placing orders or returning merchandise bought on-line.Review from Simone D

**** 100% dissatisfied. Placed an order online and received an email stating that my order could not be verified. One day later I received an email stating my order was delayed. I had to contact Joann fabrics four times within a three day. Period because not only have canceled my order, but they also did not refund me the money for what I ordered which was upwards of $460. After speaking to customer service the fourth time they advised me that they would put in a request for a refund which may take 7 to 10 days. Ridiculous. So I dont have my items and I do not have my own funds. I had to call four times to beg them to send my money back. Will never use this company again and I advise anyone else to find someplace else to go.Review from Alex F

I placed an order for decorations about 2 weeks ago. The order was split into 3 shipments and received the first two packages within the first week. I was waiting on the third package, and when I looked at the tracking info, it said it was Out for Delivery... in *********.. I live in *****. So I called **************** and explained the situation and I was told they would need to open an investigation to see who messed up the address (obviously was not me since I received two of the three packages from the same order) and that once they determined what happened I would be issued a refund. I asked them to just resend the same order to my correct address, and I was told I could reorder the items for the same price with free shipping but would have to pay for the items and then I would be refunded for the other order later. Besides the fact that I had already spent the money and didn't have the funds to pay for it again before receiving a refund (that was going to take 5-7 business days), this is just terrible customer service. I was not the one who messed up, but I was the one being inconvenienced. I've never had a company mess up and not immediately fix the situation. I just wanted the items, that's all. I was told their system won't allow them to place a reorder or to place an order and then discount the items to $0, which is crazy for a company that's been around for decades. I made several orders on this website and every single order they sent missing items or the wrong item. I have my order number which I can include here that yall can look at. I ordered several foam pieces for my couch at 2 inches each one. im expecting 8 inches, which by the way, were expensive, and they send me less than 1 inch foams on every order. I feel robbed and they make the return process very difficult. another order I ordered little canisters and they decide to send the canisters without their lids. I make online orders because I cannot physically get to the store and now I have to figure out how to wrap all these foams up on my own to get them to a store, which I will not be able to exchange because they are online only so that means that I would have to trust a fraudulent site to re-order these and now we are already three weeks in and I have not been able to finish my project. i can understand messing up one order but to consistently mess up 5 orders now that is just fraudulent ??
