I rented an economy car from Budget Rent A Car for just 2.5 days, expecting a reasonable price. However, to my shock, I was charged nearly $600, with most of the charges being completely unclear, excessive, and unjustified. Here are some of the mysterious fees that I dont even recognize or understand:11.11% Concession Recovery Fee: $48.30 C.R.F. Surcharge: $0.50/day, $1.50 Facility Charge: $7.73/day, $23.19 Transportation Fee: $4.55/day, $13.65 Vehicle License Recoup: $0.71/day, $2.13 Energy Recovery Fee: $0.60/day, $1.80 Late Fee: $20.00/day, $20.00 On top of that, optional services were added without my clear consent:Fuel Service: $94.81 Security Fee: $5.00/day, $15.00 Optional Services (Non-Taxable): $85.05 Loss Damage Waiver: ***** Accepted PAE 9.95 Accepted SLI ***** Accepted Extended Roadside **** 8.99/DY 53.94/WK I did not agree to most of these charges, and there was no clear explanation provided at the time of booking. This is absolutely unacceptable for a 2.5-day economy rental. I feel like Budget is taking advantage of its customers with hidden fees and unreasonable charges.I request a full refund for these unjustified charges and will never use Budget Rent A Car again. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMEND!! I rented a 12' truck from them. The truck had to ve towed 3-4 times. First time was due to "loose transmission bolts" truck was smoking and Check engine light came on. They couldn't tow us to our destination due to the miles so they made us stay in a hotel. We were moving from **** az to **. After sending a tech in the morning and tighting the bolts said we were fine and trans fluid was fine. On our way we went 3 hours to remain. Truck ran terrible but I was told it was fine. 2 turns away from the top of the moutain the whole truck stalled l, started reving with my foot off the gas. I had to force it in park and turn it off. I was now stuck in the middle of a turn going up a moutain. I had to turn it back on and crawl it to the closest turn it it was smoking very heavily at this point I had to take out the fire extinguisher and run away from the truck hoping it wasn't about to catch on fire. It had to be towed again. And again. The company took more than 2 weeks to close the reservation. In this two weeks I was getting calls and texts asking where there truck is after I had explicitly spoke to many people in the company assuring they knew where their truck was and when it got their and more importantly that I DID NOT HAVE THE TRUCK. Got calls from their security team because they didn't know where their truck was as customer service gave them no information. I got calls from **** corporate looking for their truck. While the whole time it was at a repair facility. Do not use this company their are so many flaws it's just over all not safe. And they seem to careless about the well being of their customers and their ***********************. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE BY FAR!!. AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU A FULL REFUND EVEN THOUGH WE ALMOST DIED! THANK YOU BUDGET FOR NOTHING!Review from Seth I

If I could give Budget negative stars I would. I went to rent a truck after work got home and was getting ready to start loading it and the truck ramp was broken! Called roadside assistance and they showed up at midnight to finally fix it! I lost an entire evening of moving time. Their customer service even tried to convince me I didn't need the ramp. Then to make matters worse they charged me for the day the truck ramp was broken. Budget also doesn't disclose their fees in advance of the rental forcing you to pay more when you arrive. There were so many other issues with this entire experience. This was the absolute worst experience. Never use Budget. Use any other truck company.Review from Brittany G

On 9-28-24, I went into Budget to pick up a rental that I had prepaid in full for. on 8-20-24. Upon arrival, I was informed the reserved vehicle was not available on the lot. The representative cancelled the reservation instead of modifying it. I was charged a 2nd time for the rental. It took 5 business days to receive the refund for the initial charge. I returned the vehicle after the week long rental, on time and with a full tank of gas. The same representative offered to print a receipt and I accepted. I was charged for the vehicle a 3rd time. I called the Budget customer service number and was told he would send a case to have it refunded and should take 5-7 days. I requested to escalate my call, i was placed on hold for 30 minutes and then hung up on. I have rented vehicles multiple times from this location in the past 10 years without issues. I don't want to give Budget ANY stars! Budget Rental is the worst company to work with. I reserved a truck 4 weeks before my move from ******** to *******, and when I went to pick up the truck, I was told there wasn't a truck available. Are you kidding me?! I spoke to customer service and got no where. They couldn't care less. Someone should have reached out and let me know as soon as they knew they couldn't deliver a truck to the pick up location. There wasn't a truck within 50 miles of me! Thank goodness UHaul came thru in a pinch. I had people waiting to help me pack the truck and this put me way behind schedule that day. This was a horrible experience and I've told everyone I know to NEVER use Budget.Budget Truck Rental Response

We confirmed a rental online and had a confirmation number. When we arrived to pick up the truck, the business said we didn't have a reservation, no confirmation, and they had no truck for us. I had hired movers at home who were waiting for us and had no truck. The agent told me to call customer service if I had a problem with our reservation.Never again. If I could give ZERO stars I would have. Don't ever use this company for your move!We reserved a moving truck 3 weeks in advance through the website. Received our confirmation that our truck and hand trucks were available and we assumed all is well.We called to confirm our truck 3 days in advanced and was then told that the location we chose didn't have the truck we reserved for THAT location. We requested a manager and was told there was none. After being on the phone for 1 hour and 23 mins with a *** they finally informed us that they resolved our issue and the truck would be available at THE location we reserved it ******** forward, to our moving day, we are driving to pick up the truck and get a call from a Budget *** named Hope (at ** ****** location) that tells us they don't have the truck we reserved or ANY trucks for the day. We were obviously bothered and inconvenienced and asked what location can we pick up the truck we reserved. To which, Hope said she had no idea because their systems don't allow to check for truck availability. <----- HOW?We ask for a manager, to which Hope said, was not there and would not be there for the weekend. She said she was the only staff there and could do NOTHING to help us. We are told ******* is the Manager but that he won't be in until *********, here we are on the DAY of our move, 30 mins before our pick up time with NO moving truck, NO care from Budget, NO help from Budget, NO ONE to talk and NO ONE than can find us a moving truck.Thank God for Uhaul! We called them and got a truck reserved over the phone and are in route to pick it up.WE WILL NEVER USE BUDGET FOR MOVING AGAIN!!! Budget van rented was a complete junk van. Dents on all sides of van. Panels ripped off the side. Rear view mirror fell off. Low tire pressure on two tires. No Budget written on truck. If I could leave a review with "no stars", this would be it...I had a reservation for a 16' Budget Truck for Monday 26 Aug at 8:30 AM (Conf #: 1808####****), I showed up at the agreed time and when I am there I am told: sorry, we don't have the truck, there simply isn't one available, having a confirmation # meant nothing! The guy at the front desk called someone named ******* from "inventory" to check on availability, she just tells him there is one in ************* ( I live roughly 80 miles away from there, about 1:40 hr driving distance with a car). Oh, and they will not reimburse the "per mile" rate charged for those extra 160 miles round trip of course!Immediately after I had the interaction with the front desk I called Budget Truck rental 800 number and I got someone from *********** (**** or something like that), the person literally laughs at my dilemma and cares less about the situation. On top of it all, he/she asks me if I take the offer in ************* or wish to cancel as otherwise (READ this) I will be charged for not picking up the truck! Seriously? They "break a promise" and on top of it all want to charge the individual for their failure? Shame on them! They should not even consider a charge, after all they FAILED to deliver! There is no decency to any business model acting like this, no ethic! Needless to say, I did cancel it. Although I know the reservation has a statement that "their confirmation is not a guarantee of availability but of pricing", I did not get a courtesy call or email before I went to the location, wasting my time, gas to get there, and potentially day at work and some crucial plans for a move, they are an inconsiderate business! Fortunately, U-Haul saved our plans and the situation did not deteriorate further, only the unplanned delay!I wrote to the customer service and CC some of the executive team on 29 Aug '24, we'll see if they correct any of the many unethical and shameful practices.Budget Truck Rental Response

Used a toll pass transponder to pay for tolls on my 17 hour move. They charged me a $17 convenience fee and $3 in tolls. I sent them proof of double charging and they told me they would knock $3 off. Poor business practice ***Budget Truck Rental Response
