McCarty's was contacted to perform seal coating on 64 homes in our community. We were all told each driveway would be examined and a plan developed to care for the needs of each driveway. The owner, Barry, stated he would not charge extra for taking care of small cracks, as part of the volume discount he was applying. A few of the homeowners, who were home at the time of the service, made a complaint about cracks that were not filled after the sealing service was completed. McCarty's came back, filled the cracks and returned the next day to apply another seal coat over the crack repairs. I was not home when the service was done. I immediately emailed McCarty's to report cracks that were not filled. I stated I was not going to pay the invoice until I received an email confirmation that he would return and take care of the issues. A couple days later, the owner, Barry, appeared at my house ringing my doorbell frantically and repeatedly before I could get to the door. When I opened the door, he was verbally abusive, saying he never came back to any of the other homes to do anything! He stated other homeowners who contacted him, whom he agreed with to come back in the fall and apply another coat, were arrogant and self-righteous and he had no intentions of returning and doing anything! He left stating he wasn't doing anything more for me and I need to pay my bill! I am not paying for a sealing that was done haphazardly and incomplete! I initially wanted him to take care of my concerns. However, after he visited my home, tried to intimidate me using vulgarity and abusive speech, telling me he had no intentions of following through with agreements he had made with other homeowners, I will not pay him and I do not want him anywhere near my house for any additional services!
