Very bad experience with Dave G***** buying a 1987 Mercedes 560SL on 9/26/23 that I originally saw listed on eBay. I didn't see the car in person so relied on his photos and responses to questions I asked him. I asked the condition of the brakes, he said front 70% and rear 100%, when I received the car I had it serviced and discovered all brakes needed to be done, including calipers, and that right rear tire lugs were seized and needed to be drilled out, there's no way he could have done those brakes. Asked if the seats were original leather and he said yes, turns out they were reupholstered in vinyl at some point. Dave claims he's an experiences seller of European cars, and he didn't know this?? I didn't ask him about the dash board because it looked fine in photos, but turns out there was a plastic cover glued on top of the severely cracked dash. He claims I should have known from the photos. Dave's approach is to show photos and give few details, then answer written questions verbally so there is no record of his lies. I expected him to be forthcoming about the true condition of the car. After I had a chance to quantify my costs to repair these items, I contacted Dave, and he denied any responsibility for misrepresenting the car to me.
