Point Builders built my attached garage, but I stopped their work before the job was completed. The garage is great, but there were definitely problems.1. A lack of oversight over the subs. Example: the company that installed the ceiling insulation did it improperly so that the soffit vents were covered and there would have been no air circulation in the loft storage space. I had to inspect it myself and get the builder to make the sub return and install the brackets to allow for air circulation. The builder never checked it.2. Where the garage wall met the exterior wall of the house, he left a 1.5 inch X 3 foot gap under the siding which would have allowed animals to enter the garage. I had to remove the siding and fill that gap myself.3. Every day when his guys worked a full day on my house, I was charged for their lunch hours, which added up to alot of money over the months of the project. I did not agree to this, but cannot say whether this is normal practice for a building contractor.4. He charged for putting up drywall, tape and mud, which he said was done but I had to redo myself because it was uneven and drywall tape was also showing through in may spots.5. The cost of the project ran 40% over his original estimate and that cost did not include some of the work that was included in that original estimate because I stopped the work.6. He set up a gutter system that had 4 drains into an underground pipe, but only used three of them. Not sure why.7. He couldn't find the roofing shingles that I wanted to match those on my house. I found them without any problem. Not sure what that was about.8. He told me that a smaller garage door would be fine for access for my two cars, and it isn't. I didn't know any better and relied on his judgment.9. I ended up doing alot of the finish work in order to prevent any further perceived overbilling, and I'm glad I did as his company website and ******** pages appear to have disappeared as of May of 2024.
