I was a tenant at The Hollows Apartments in Columbia, SC. I moved in on March 8, 2022. That day, I did a walkthrough by myself and was given a walkthrough form to complete. I wrote on that form (and I still have screenshots of it) stating the carpet needed to be replaced or cleaned because it was dirty and smelly, and had spots on it. The assistant manager at the time, Crystal, walked back over with me and I showed her. She took photos and showed them to Shakera Griffin, who stated she would look into the matter, which she never did. I tried to clean it as best as I could, but was unsuccessful, so I had to buy large rugs to cover it. I was not going to pay to have it cleaned when that's something they should have done, especially given the fact someone had literally just moved out days before me! When I brought it up the next year, Ms. Griffin tried to act like I was lying, saying she didn't recall me bringing it to her attention. Why would you think that and why would I lie when it's clearly written on the walkthrough form I turned into your office the same day I moved in? Also, the ceiling in the apartment below me caved in, and instead of maintenance waiting for the plumber to come and assess the situation, he came to my apartment, into the laundry area, and busted a hole in the wall, then took forever to fix it. Each time I brought it up, I mentioned I had ordered a washer/dryer, and needed the wall restored to its original state. He replied, "Well the washer and dryer is gonna cover the wall anyway". Are you serious? They are trifling. That wall still looked disgusting when I moved out where he called himself restoring it. I was so fed up I felt I could no longer call my apartment my home, so I gave them a 60 day notice of my intent to vacate, the deadline was 1/7/24, UPS delivered it on 1/5/24 @ 10:06AM and signed by Leah Anderson. They tried to say they did not receive my letter until 1/8/24. They charged me $3722 when I only owed for February!Customer response

If you hear back from The Hollows Apts or Sunbelt Property Management you can let them know the next communication they will receive will be from my lawyer, and I will file a complaint with The Federal Trade Commission. I will not pay over $3722.00 especially when I notified The Hollows Apts within 60 days of my intent to move. They tried to lie and say the reason they filed an eviction is because they didn't receive my 60 day notice until 1/8/24. I have proof that it was received on 1/5/24 at exactly 10:06AM and signed by Leah A*******! They had no right to file an eviction when they knew I was gone! I only owed for February and the first 7 days of March and that is all I am paying! The reason they haven't responded is because they know I am right! Now they had better fix that bill or I am suing!
