I bought a Barrier Reef Pool at the now closed Little River store. The salesman was *****. He asked us if we wanted to go with a 2 stamped concrete border using a different color to give some contrast. We agreed. Concrete work was done by their subcontractor, a fellow named Rafe. When I saw that they were doing two separate pours of concrete I expressed a concern that it created a seam or joint around the pool. But they said no need to worry. Didnt see any rebar being used. Mentioned that also, but again was told not to worry. Two of the three employees turned out to be heroin addicts. Rafe their boss told me that after he fired them. That would explain why they usually late getting to the job site and were lethargic until I gave them coffee with extra sweetener and breakfast bars. Long story short, when they poured the concrete sections, the 2 border around the pool and the rest of concrete decking, which was substantial, they never used any rebar to strengthen and tie together both sections. So starting several years ago my fiberglass pool began sinking. Sent pictures to Barrier Reef per their request via the internet. They would NEVER talk to you on the phone if you were an old customer. In person phone calls were only for those folks who were thinking about buying a BR pool. So I finally did talk with ***** *****, the **************** Manager in ************ SC. Mr. ***** said actually said he remembered me and was at my house when BR installed my pool. I sent him the pics showing the pool sinking. Then he wouldnt return my phone calls, then stopped taking my calls altogether. Mr ***** did email us saying that the installation of the concrete was only guaranteed for one year. Well that would be fine if ** had employees or subcontractors who werent using drugs and knew to use rebar when doing 2 pours of concrete around my pool. Im now in the process of having a pool contractor try to correct the shoddy work by BR. Will now cost me thousands of dollars.
