    Absolutely the worst company we've ever had to deal with!!!! Did a horrible job from the beginning and after multiple calls to correct the problems/issues they decided not to return calls or do what they said they would. Spoke to Scott(the owner) about our issues and he was to busy on vacation every week to even begin to help!!!!! We finally had to hire another company to fix all problems and pay for the job twice. I would NEVER recommend McRae to anyone for anything!!!!!

    We were contacted & hired by **** *********** in May 2022 to install a reserve drain field to use if or when her existing drain field became too wet to absorb due to ground conditions. The new drain field was installed based on the map provided by the Jefferson County Health Department requirements as well as inspected by a local health inspector which verified it was installed correctly & per code. After a few months we were contacted by **** *********** stating that the isolation valve that was installed would not turn to divert the water to the reserve area. Upon inspection it was discovered that the homeowner had altered the isolation valve which caused it to be difficult to use as it should. During the same visit the installers were able to turn the valve to divert the water to the reserve area as requested. Things seemed to be working as they should until March 2023 when again the isolation valve needed to be switched again, however, after receiving a call from the homeowner we completed a conference call with our owner, Steve ****** at which time he was on vacation but took time to discuss the issues. We completed the work as requested by the ************* which was also inspected & approved by the assigned code enforcement officer. The warranty for our workmanship is 12 months from the date of installation during which time we honored that policy & addressed the issues that **** *********** contacted our office about.

    We hired Mcrae Plumbing to install field line and a access valve to switch between the existing line and the new lines. After hiring them we had to call SEVERAL times because every time they would say they were coming they didn't show or even call. I told their employee Woody in the very beginning (which was March 2022) that we had to have the work completed by May 2022 because we had several events planned for May and they couldn't work while we had our events and if they couldn't do it before we would wait until after May and have the work completed but instead of communicating with us or returning calls they show up and start digging our yard 2 days before my sons graduation party with several outside events planned. So needless to say our yard was a mess for both his graduation and birthday party planner back to back weekends. They completed the field lines the day before our event and neither of us could be home to check it or even be there when it was inspected. The 2 valves they installed ( which should have only been 1 if done correctly) never functioned properly. They were the wrong valves we later found out when we went to switch them because the new field lines they installed after 3 months already sewage coming to the surface and we couldn't switch back to the old lines because the valves ( which were under a foot of sewage) and had a handle on it that was so long you couldn't turn it inside the sewage and enclosure they had over it. I called and asked why they used those valves and told them we couldn't get them to work for those reasons so Woody ( their employee) came to the house while we were working and cut the handle off the valve and left it. I called repeatedly and stated the valves weren't working and couldn't get anyone to return my calls or help us resolve the problems. I then called the office and spoke with one of the ladies there(not Steve's daughter) and she was very nice and apologetic and I demanded that Steve call us and try to help get this resolved. He did finally call and stated he would have us a metal tool made to turn the valves with but the valves they installed were not ones that you could use that type of tool on so he said he would talk to Woody and see exacehat he had installed and let us know what we should do. NEVER spoke with him again! He wouldn't return calls and neither would ANY of his employees. We continued to try to speak with them with no response so we contacted another company and they came out and assessed the problems and told us everything that would need to be done to correct the problems so we basically had to redo and repay for all the work they had done. Mcrae plumbing was recommended to us from a friend of theirs and when I called him to ask for guidance and how to proceed he stated that everyone he had referred them to was very unhappy with them and he would no longer recommend them to anyone and we were the second customer he had referred them to that had to hire someone else to correct their work. Our problems and contact with complaints started after 2 to 3 months and well within their 12 month so called warranty and were NEVER CORRECTED!!!!!
