as a young person looking for insurance i felt like i was completely taken advantage of, when i called to get my insurance set up i gave them a list of doctors i needed to see and made sure to tell them at least 5 times that i can not have an HMO plan as none of my doctors take that. the people i spoke to told me this plan was not an HMO and this would be a PPO plan, i was later made aware after i payed my fees that if you are an independent in the state of texas you can only have HMO. i called BCBS to try and figure out what was going on, i finally got in touch with a supervisor who said she would send my phone call over to the people who would review it and would give me a call back in 24 hours.. that was nearly three weeks ago. i called everyday multiple time to try and get in touch with someone who could respond to my requests only to be told that this supervisor or anyone else who helped me was busy. i was told to call member services and as i did and explained the situation, shocker, there was no notes in my account from the supervisor that said she would help me. i am extremely disappointed as i verified over 5 times all my doctors would be in network and now none of them are. i ended up having to cancel as they don’t cover anyone and im paying for a service i can’t even use! the only thing i got was im sorry that happened we can give you a refund for one month. absolutely ridiculous! never had so many issues with an insurance company until now and i can tell you this i will never be returning.
