We are sorry to learn ****************** is unhappy with his recently completed project. We show the project start date was on July 10, 2023 and that it was fully completed on August 11, 2023. Our records show the project start date was initially delayed in order to begin on July 10, 2023 at ******************' request due to he was going to be out of town so he asked us to please wait until July 10, 2023 to get started. I understand ****************** advised us he understood that the project should have taken one week to complete so if that is the case, then it appears that ****************** is meaning that it was 3 weeks overdue on the completion based on his understanding of how long the project should take.
This project required a demolition of his existing patio cover and deck with installation of a new deck, patio cover, paint and custom frames and screens so we are not sure why ****************** believed the project, requiring 4 different construction trades, was to be completed in one week as this is a 2-3 week project under normal conditions.
****************** did make some changes on the construction which resulted in a delay in completion of the construction, a change order for the custom screens, and created a delay to start and complete painting. The project ran about one week over the typical turn around time as a result of that but we were happy to work with ****************** to ensure the project was completed per his requests. ****************** also made several changes on the areas he wanted painted green, after those areas were requested to be painted white, so this resulted in a portion of the delay to complete everything.
The new patio cover is different in design than what was originally built, which resulted in the need for 4 elbow gutter components due to the new patio cover has an overhang. Our Scope of Work did not include providing a new or partial gutter system; however, we advised ****************** we would be glad to return on the week of August 14th - August 18th, 2023 in order to add the needed gutter components. If an existing gutter system needs to be modified due to changes in the patio cover design, that would typically be a separate project item.
Further, unless we were to have come back on the weekend, which would have been yesterday (Saturday) or today (Sunday), I don't believe it is a fair statement that we refused to come back to honor our word since we advised him two days ago on Friday, August 11, 2023, that we would return this coming week as a pro ****/complimentary follow up. We have again today offered to ****************** to return back to install the elbows needed for his gutter system.
I have pictures of before the project was started and completed and after pictures of after the project was fully completed per our contract and would be glad to upload those for clarity. We built the project per ******************' specifications using the materials and the colors that he chose.
If ****************** would like for us to return to add those ******** at no charge versus hiring a gutter company that is charging him a minimum of $900.00, we will follow up to get it completed.
