Last December I requested some quotes to have my windows replaced and add a sliding door, **** came out he was very professional, We decided to move forward with his quote, we signed our contract, and picked out a 4-panel Sliding. We had a total of 6 contractors come to our home and look at the project, July I called to cancel the project due to making payment on this project. and no installation date set. Of course, when I called to cancel our door had arrived RED Flag we set our date for installation in August. The installer came and started removing all the windows in the middle of the job contractor stated he was only paid for taking out the windows and putting in the doors not turn key ready. My husband called SunSmart and spoke with **** and asked about the installer allegations he explained that we signed and the project would not be turn-key ready like he sold us on. However, if we wanted the job turn-key ready we needed to pay their contractors an extra $5k on top of the $12k we were paying. Please read the contract and beware of ****!!! he never apologized this was the worst experience ever. Thank God I knew multiple contractors from real estate investing this is our 17th property, I will never recommend SunSmart Windows and Doors.

Great story, however left out some details. This is a construction job in ********, ** which required permits and drawings in order to get the permits. That took a while. Job was knocking out a wall where 2 windows were and adding a sliding glass door. Customer got all that done and financed with us for 12 months no payments and no interest I believe for around $11,142.59. We are one of the few window companies that can do this type of work. This was not a turn key job. Our contract clearly states that we don't do painting, drywall, etc(finish work)  and hence it is not included in our pricing. On construction jobs we simply dry the job in and do the installation and construction. During installation, the customer requested additional finish out work that was not agreed upon during her original consultation. Due to the length of time from start to installation and the change in construction materials and labor costs, the job was no longer profitable to us as a company at that time, which is fine as sometimes these things can happen. If we beat out 6 other companies, there was a reason. However, customer wanted to use our installer to do the additional work, which is also fine, but the additional cost would have been around 2k and not 5k. We originally agreed to split the cost, paying 1k each, but when we sent that agreement paperwork to sign, customer backed out and had their own contractor finish the work against our agreement. She had our installer do additional work that wasn't included in our agreement that we had to pay him for. As a result of these things, they voided any workmanship/install/product warranty with our company by having another contractor complete the job against our agreement. Not smart. I hope he knew what he was doing, because he just bought that job. We cannot warranty someone else's work. Anyway last thing I'll say about this. We have been BBB registered for many years in the past, we stopped a few years ago as it is a paid service that we no longer need as credibility since we have been in business for 10 years. All the good reviews we accumulated over the years have come off because the BBB drops them every couple years. So rest assured we are a good company and we always complete our agreements according to our contracts. If we didn't a customer could easily take take legal action, which would not help in this case, because most legal professionals can read and they would just read the agreement and see we did what we agreed to do. The only thing I will say is that it did take a long time due to the permitting but we do things by the book. Would have been way cheaper and easier to do the job without permits, as this was in the back yard, but thats not what we wanted to do. Have a great day!
