Came to look at a unit on 08/26 and was originally told that the unit would be ready to move in on 08/29. The following day we were informed that the unit will actually not be ready by then but by 08/31. Well 08/31 comes around and now they tell us that it isn't going to be ready for an extended amount of time. We went out of town until 09/06 and when I came into the office to get keys for the apartment they told me that it still wasn't ready. We had to be out of the old apartment on 08/31 so they are leaving us without a place to stay or keep our animal. They aren't doing anything to compensate for rent as of yet or putting us in a different unit because the units that they have that are exactly the same are brand new and they charge more and they aren't willing to put us in those units but rather have us CONTINUE to wait after all this time of being promised dates for it to be ready.Initial Complaint

I moved into Avalon Villas 7 years ago and just recently moved out in April.I've had so many problems with water leaks over the years and before I moved out I had a flood from my upstairs neighbors apartment in my hallway and bedroom that ruined 2 brand new mattress's.I had a deposit and they only gave me part of it back when I moved out.They stated they had to clean the carpet in the bedroom which needed extra cleaning because of the smell,the smell was from when water flooded into the bedroom and they never would come clean the carpet after it happened.So I was charged almost 400 dollars.I tried to contact corporate and they said nothing that would get my money back.Then just last week I went there to check the mailbox,the worker in the office gave me the wrong mailbox key and then said he couldn't find it.That someone is going to be moving in and they would call me before the next person moved in.Well I called today and they said the person already moved in.And they will get my mail from them.This would be a federal offense if someone opened my mail and they don't care at all just like when I was living there.I want all my mail and the rest of my deposit back because it isn't fair how I was treated living there,and now that I have moved out.Initial Complaint

I went to apartment complex today 04/01/2022 with the intent to occupy unit 164 upon arrival the unit was unavailable. The leasing agent advise they would have to move me to unit 102 because unit 164 was not available. Upon getting the keys for the unit I went to the unit and viewed it . After viewing the unit I advised the leasing I dont think the apartment is ready for moving in. I advised leasing agent less than 10 mins after getting keys I don't want to proceed. She advise that she couldn't give me my money order back . I advise her that I didn't feel like the property was live-able. She then called the manager of the property who then advised she couldn't issue a refund. I only had possession of the keys for 10mins and returned them. I would like my money back and lease terminated due to me not having possession of the unit for 48 hours per TAA.Initial Complaint

January 30th when the leak begin at 8:00 Started to see big bugs due to the leak. February 20th started again at 10:00 pm Called emergency maintenance twice took a hour to respond after I left two messages. Laundry room always stink and it's starting to form mild dew and causing big roach bugs. I just moved in December 12th. So it seems the apartment complex didn't do go good enough inspection.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/08) */ Leak was addressed, and has not been present since. For the repair work that is needed after the leak, out painter will go and treat any presence of mildew and drywall repair. For pest control, we were not notified that resident was having issues, resident has since been placed on pest control.
