On Mar. 22nd I received a" Congratulations, welcome to Public Power" email stating they would be my electrical supplier starting Mar. 28th as long as my utility accepts enrollment with a confirmation of my account number and address included. I received my electric bill on Apr. 28th and was shocked to see I was charged the standard service rate of 11.48/kWh instead of 9.99/kWh I was enrolled in with Public Power for 10 mos. I called Eversource and two different people confirmed they never received anything from Public Power on my behalf. I called Public Power on Mar. 29th and the woman I spoke with said it was denied by Public Power, not Eversource?! I asked her WHY and first she said I gave them the wrong account # but I told her this was not possible because their confirmation email to me had my account number correct. Then she said the reason was that account was closed when in fact in just started at my new address confirmed in their acceptance email. Then she said it was denied because I never called to confirm the details for my new account were correct BUT there was nothing in the Congratulations email I received from them stating I needed to do so?! I asked her WHY Public Power did not notify me my enrollment was later denied by them after they told me it was approved and she had no answer for that. Instead she tried to enroll me for a rate higher than the standard service rate of 12.4/kWh because she said the plan I enrolled in was no longer available!! I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said none was available and that they would call me back when they were. I tried to ask her when I could expect this call and from what number but she abruptly hung up on me instead. It has been four days since then and no supervisor has called me back to address their big mistake. I expect an apology for how poorly this was handled and the supplier rate I was initially promised by them or an equal form of compensation.
