Purchased enclosed garage in Feb '22. Was installed by "****" within a few weeks on level concrete that was formed as ASC instructed notch method. Installer refused to install siding over notch, which was designed and paid to prevent leaks. Building has since leaked under bare metal base rails and around all frame outs (doors, windows). Over head door frame outs are not constrctucted square and prevent proper alignment of the door panels. A crew was returned twice to deal with issues. They smothered caulking around base, around windows/doors. Caulking was never supposed to be a method to seal the "maintenance free" building. It is unsightly, gobbed into recesses exceeding an inch (not suited for caulk), and would require regular maintenance/touch up. Crew declined to correct overhead door frame outs, leaving them crooked. The building still leaks. I took a close look at the caulking and they essentially just made a mess. I also found 2 window openings in siding were cut too large leaving a gaping hole to the inside - massive water leak. Many areas not caulked, many caulked at poor angles or creating gaps encouraging water to run in, caulked over window screens rendering impossible to remove, caulked most of base rail and overdid it creating areas where water cannot escape and sits against bare metal - water on metal = rust and structural failure. I also reviewed engineering diagram and found that insufficient number/placement of concrete anchors were used. "******" at Illinois scheduling office us the only rep I am permitted to speak to. Her latest response was theyll send a crew a 3rd time when it is 'convenient', as they must have other sales in my area to come down - no 'special' trips for repairs. Meanwhile the metal is fatiguing with constant water contact and with every rain leading to a beyond repair situation. Numerous photos have been sent to ASC of all issues - install + 2 return trips and nothing is resolved. Rectify/restore integrity or pay for my repairBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:Crew returned for 3rd time and REFUSED to correct all complaints/concerns, inckuding but limited to constructural concern. Crew did reinstall J trim around ONLY windows, then caulked again anyway even whike saying caulking isnt necessary "i dont understand why these leaked" (****). Crew stated door frame out, overhead frame outs, caulk cleanup from last crew is my problem even after I showed pictures of other crew diing the caulking and he recognized one person as "******"(?). Crew did install bottom rail should have been done 1st time and bottom rail leaks appear to have stopped. 1 window continues to leak, overhead door ***** outs remain 1/2" out of square, entry door frame out continues to leak, anchors to concrete remain contested in number and qty, not in compliance with MO certified engineering document, massive amounts of caulking remain not cleaned up. Since ASC has failed to resolve issue, and/or refused, in THREE return trips, I am asking for $1250.00 refund that I may hire a competant company of my choice to resove these and provide the leak free maintenance free building I purchased as advertised by ASC. I have requested ASC to stop sending in omotant crews who obviously cannot or will not do the work correctly. ASC has extended a **************************************** the base rails from the leak. Tgey still owe me warrantry documentation, rights and resolutions.

I received compromise payment from American Steel Corporation in the amount of $1250.00. This is to cover my costs of rework/maintenance for leaking frameouts only. This payment does not absolve ASC liability for any other part of the building and construction.
I received a rust warranty letter as well.
I am unable to update the complaint as such. My complaint has been resolved.

on or around aug/sept of 2020 I had American carports install an 30x40 shop in my backyard. Within the next year (approx. sept to oct of 21) my building developed some leaks, and I was directed to ****** to have the problem scheduled to be repaired. A crew came out to inspect the roof and resealed the cap of the roof and one skylight. I was advised to contact American Carports if there were any other issues. In December 21 we had a month of heavy rain and quite a few other leaks became apparent. I contacted ****** again and sent pictures. I received a call from **** in the local office but was unable to make the date they requested and asked if we could schedule for a Saturday so I did not have to miss work, I was told that would be ok and would receive a call back. A month passed with no call so upon my contacting them I was told no one wanted to come on a Saturday. I asked for the soonest appointment and I would make arrangements to be there. When the crew showed up, I showed them the pictures and asked if they could replace the screws in the roof. They checked the roof and told me that they would have to talk to their boss to find out what they could do. No one called me so after a week I called back and spoke with **** to which I was told, " the crew said it was condensation and I would not allow them to take a hose to the roof to check for leaks, so the case was closed." I disputed this claim with **** and was told they would get another crew out to check it out. Since then, weeks have passed, no call. I have contacted ****** and was told he would get someone here, still no one. I have since left NUMEROUS messages with **** and for their shop ****** with no return calls. Enclosed are the pictures of the "condensation" they claim is my leak. the only time the leaks have appeared is during rain and not during the weeks long freeze we had in February. Paid a $200 deposit for a car port on February of 2021. After nearly a year of ignored calls and texts and not hearing from the contractor *************************, I decided to ask for my deposit back January of 2022. We still keep getting ignored and have not received our money back.Business response

Ordered a carport from local dealer in ******************************************************** known as ********. Carport was to be manufactured by American Steel Carports Inc out of ******, **. I paid $568.39 down payment on a $4032.90 order on Oct 26th, 2021. The delivery and installation was supposed to be ***** weeks from that date. At 18 weeks I started calling and left 3 messages inquiring about the status of my order. I called today (3/8/2022) and was informed that the phone mailbox was filled and no one can answer the phone(recorded message) No one has called me back. Total lack of customer service. I want someone to contact me and let me know the status of my order.Customer response

The carport installed was crooked and I've been trying to get this resolved. I paid for this carport I. Full and trird to call them after to come back but never called me back. The ******** service agent including supervsor was rude and would not let me talk. I went back to the dealer that sold me **** **** and ***** said if you ordered the side cover and extension they qoul resolve the issue. I did and put a down payment again. But at the time they tried to schedule That weekend I can't cause of a memorial I had to tend to. They never came back to call. I ve been put back mos now and I've been trying to call but always put on voice mail left messages but never got a call back. Fi all today after talking to a the dealer ***** that told to call in the 8am I spoke to a Manager cause that ****** was giving a hard time. Had to say. My name 3 times and could not understand my order. The manager was very condescending ru@e talks down on her noise at me. I asked for the owners name and they said it was *************************** but his voice mail was full and can not be reached. I left a message to that employee again ******** to tell Primo to call me me. And they never did. I feel that they think their Supreme over there. That there's no remorse for what their doing. I paid for this carport it's crooked and they would not come to fix their work plus they put me off for weeks now a mo because I could not make their delivery because of a memorial I need to tend to. Please have your people fix this or come disassemble this defunct carport, take it away and refund me my money $9k You have a lousy CS.. That owner Primo.Business response

I signed a contract with dealer American storage building as a dealer for American steel carport corporation on 7/21/21 in order to purchase garage 40*30 feet. I gave a deposit over $4k to a dealer and created a pad as requested by company above spending another $16k ( I have all the cancelled checks) . They disappeared for a while but I was reassured that garage will be delivered on 11/3/21 as promised delivery date. As time was passing by I was calling ****** and dealer ***** to verify exacts dates of delivery, continue to pressure them for exact date. On 12/2/21 I received final notice from ***** stated that due to rain and covid they will not deliver garage till spring. I told them that this is unacceptable behavior and they laughed at me and finally hung up on me. I am writing to BBB of ***** as my last resort for justice in this country. I want ether deposit back or installation within this month.Please help me resolve this situation. I am 9/11 veteran with 9/11 cancer condition, I put all my money to build this garage and I desperately in need of that. If there is a justice in this country please dont let these crooks get of the hook. I still have vague hope for the justice in this country. Please dont let it go down the drains.Business response

I signed contract with American steel carport on 7/21/21. To today date I didnt have any particular date on installation. I paid deposits of ******* nd 16k on the pad installation. Spoke today to ****** and ***** from American storage building. Both didnt give me any particular answers trying to b s **** want installation date with in promised interval **** weeks from contract signed or my deposit back plus money for pad installation which is 16k.
