I only gave 1 star because I had to. I ended up with a leak after taking my car in for a routine oil change. They claimed it was due to normal wear and tear. Mind you I never had a leak or sign of a leak prior to their service. Long story short I had to choose between a temporary plug or new oil pan. I chose the new pan for peace of mind and was told if I pay for the part they would waive the labor. I asked how much and Brake Check quoted $150. I called Auto Zone, which is where they claimed the part was being purchased from but to my surprise the part was quoted and verified by Auto Zone to be $94.99. I contacted corporate and stated my concern as to why I am being charged $50 more for a part to fix a problem I didnt have before their service and was told and I quote well we have to make a little money on this because were already waiving the labor for it. Thats ridiculous! So youre going to price gauge a part to compensate for the labor you offered to waive? How is this ok? I wouldnt even have this problem in the first place if it wasnt for your company. At the end of the conversation I was told Im left with 2 options: to either pay $150 and have them fix it or if I choose to buy the part myself I have to take my car somewhere else because they wont fix it. It is sad that they would rather lose a loyal customer than $50 but it is what it is. I will make it my mission to warn others about Brake Check and their shady ways. Dont do it people, youre better off going somewhere else. They clearly value money more than their customers!!
