Started off not so bad. Claimed to have worked with insurance claims all the time. Insurance had to request information multiple times due to incorrect submissions. Then he blamed insurance for delays in payment. Told us workers were supposed to start at nine but showed up most days at noon. Once the water mitigation was finished he disappeared for over two months while my family of 8 was forced to life in cramped conditions while our furniture and clothes were in a pod. During this time we discovered multiple inconsistencies in what he was reporting to insurance that he was doing and what was actually done/being done. When asked he admitted to insurance fraud to “see what they would pay for” but then would not remove work he wasn’t doing or that was duplicate. He had to “fix” the estimate too many times to count. After removing items, somehow the numbers didn’t change and he insisted things that were in the estimate still needed to be added at time coming to 12k more than insurance would even pay where we would be in the deep red. We ended up purchasing flooring and materials on our own and hiring another contractor to get the job done. He required multiple requests for invoices for work to date so we could pay him when he became harassing then after hours had his wife message on social media to shake us down. Then became nasty via text accusing us of refusing to pay when he couldn’t even confirm what was owed to date for work actually done. Stated he has been afraid we wouldn’t pay which was why he left the job undone for over two months. Accused my wife and I of keeping the money to make a profit, the same money he attempted to defraud from insurance to line his pockets for work he admitted “was extra just to see what insurance would pay”. Completely unprofessional and continued the harassment via messages long into the night after we had told him we were putting children to bed. Just another shady contractor looking for money for nothing.

Since the first day that I arrived to that home, in the condition it was and the smells that it had I should of declined the job in the first place. 12 years working in claims with a proven track record, some people are just not gonna get how and claim works. We had the adjuster not respond for days at a time. The reason we waited all those months was because of the check not coming in. Then the mortgage company got involved and the fund were on hold. I worked and worked on that estimate for hours and hours. Most of the time from the road as I had to travel out of town. No one is trying to keep money but him.

I hope people researching this company look at their response and reconsider letting them into your home. Very judgmental and condescending. Not sure what was wrong with the smell of water damage since they are so accustomed to these jobs. Hours spent on “fixing” invoices to magically have the same numbers despite work that was not being done supposedly being deleted then reappearing later. We are both educated and had dealt with claims in the past, even got screwed over by a contractor right before Covid when we were naive. That’s why we refuse to pay for work that was not done or without receipts. People who work insurance claims know that’s not where you make your money. Payment was delayed from insurance when contractor had to resend in information yet you hear him even now blaming anyone else. I’m really glad they even gave us an address without the suite number. Once we spoke to insurance again we find out the water mitigation estimate, that’s estimate not itemized invoice, included work that tectum had not done and is now demanding. When asked what work has been done, he told us he didn’t know. When asked for receipts, his response was that would be hard to find those. All of this recorded via text too. Company’s invoice only said water mit for the insurance estimated cost, without an itemized breakdown of what they did versus what was supposed to be included in the insurance estimated amount. Company still refuses to send receipts and detailed invoices only for work done to date. They can insult all they want and point the finger, just let me know when you find those receipts.
