First it took over five years for Dan to put our name on the property paperwork. In November 2021 I paid off our home with a cashiers check for over $28,000. The amount owed was sent by Dilts Construction to our attorney. The amount was broken down by DC and showed late fees and other fees added in and included. We were congratulated multiple times by Dilts office workers the day we paid our home off and were told that they would have Dan get the paperwork taken care of in a few days we could pick up our deed. Days passed and NOTHING. Then I realized that I had recorded the entire transaction and once we listened we discovered that at a point when I left the office to get my ID his office workers were discussing how we OVERPAID $800 and they would have to ask Dan if he wanted to write us a check. I then called Dilts Construction and asked about the overpayment and was told that it was repayment for paying the taxes. We then checked and discovered that the taxes were in fact not paid. Once again I called the office. This time the story was that he now claims he needs another $8000 for late fees. Once again we have paperwork from him telling us what the payoff was with all late fees,paid the amount,received a receipt showing we not only paid but were in fact owed $800 and have a recording of the entire payoff transaction including his employees talking about us being homeowners and being paid in full. We still haven't received the deed or the $800 from Dilts Construction. Buyer should be extremely cautious when dealing with this company. If you search facebook for Dan D**** you will find MANY instances of these very same type of issues and some way worse.
