I pit money down in a modular home last year. I tried in vain to get the proper permitting but failed. I recently tried to get my money Back from modular home direct but sales rep are ignoring me and office phone is co Stanton busy. I also submitted an online request with no response.Business response

When I first started the process on 6/9/2023, I made a payment of $9620.00 to lock in the price for model #13886. Afterwards, there was no contact for some time. Upon contacting Modular Home Direct to find out the status of my project, I was informed that this model would not meet the code requirements for Colville, WA and that the representative that was working with me had left the company. At this point, I was told that I would have to pick another model, also, the prices of the models nearly doubled within days of me locking in the price. I chose another model that was originally $48000 and change but is now $80,873. I asked about compensation for the dishonesty of the original sales rep and was offered a heat pump for the model. They also stated that the price could be adjusted to $64,762, which is still substantially more than the original. I did not receive the video walk through or plans that were customized for Colville, WA codes. I requested plans that would meet the codes of Colville, WA and not just the cookie-cutter plans for extreme weather conditions. Since I have done this, there has been no response since early May 2024. Last I heard, the building of the modular in the warehouse has not begun and I have paid half of the agreed price which should have immediately started the construction of the model I chose. I am requesting a full refund of $32,381.00, because Modular Home Direct has not held up any of their agreements regarding mu project.Initial Complaint

We are an architecture firm and they are using one of our designs on their website without permission in violation of Federal Copyright law. We have never heard of this company or done business with them. We want them to cease and desist and to remove the image from their website.Initial Complaint

We had high hopes for our purchase, but unfortunately our experience with Modular Home Direct has been a complete disaster.It wasnt until after we paid our 50% deposit and began talking about 30+ day transit times, that we found out these units are manufactured and shipped from *****. We were led to believe that the factory was in ****, so this was our first red flag.To ensure everything would be assembled correctly, we paid their engineer for signed and stamped plans. When we received the shipment (7 months later), our contractors got to work, per the stamped plans.We had our slab poured to the dimensions on the plans, and when the contractors started putting the unit together they realized there were errors on the plans. Please see detailed information from our contractors additional work below:?Need to excavate and construct a trench measuring approximately 18 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet. Install 2 number five reinforcement bars at the top and bottom of the trench, with one number four dowel and epoxy (minimum 6 inches) at 2-foot intervals. Pour a slab extension to accommodate the discrepancy in dimensions between the manufacturer's designed slab on grade and the provided prefabricated unit. Please note that the existing slab was built according to the manufacturer's and municipality's approved construction plans. However, the prefabricated elements provided by the manufacturer were 21 inches longer and 7 inches wider than the specified dimensions for the slab on grade.?Need to remove existing and studs on each side and cut top and bottom tracks as needed to accommodate existing slab poured to manufacture specified dimensions. Reassemble studs at each end and provide reinforcing.I reached out to them over a week ago, and I cant get anyone to assist here. Theyve been a nightmare to work with, so this is not a shock, we are just looking for them to make this right. Its costing us thousands of dollars in additional labor for an error on their part.Customer response

I paid this company to build a modular home. I put money down. After about two months, I was told that the unit was ready, and I should pay the remaining balance. I asked for some assurance that the unit was complete and ready to ship. I was told by Eric Shamron that I could visit the manufacturer to inspect the unit. I had been led to believe that the manufacturer was in Utah. When I asked where the unit was, I was told that they were using a manufacturer overseas. I asked whether they would accept an escrow transaction. I have heard nothing from them since then. I understand that the money is probably lost. But I would like to go on record with my experience to prevent others from making the same mistake.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:i agreed to a proposal from Modular inc. They proposed to send a partial settlement from the deposit i put down on a project. i was assured that I would receive a settlement by Monday, 10/22. i have received no settlement.
if or when they do send a reasonable settlement, i will agree to a resolution.
