I purchased furniture from Mattress & Furniture 4 Less & Furniture in Portsmouth, VA , however, the owner wouldn’t give me a delivery date, In February, I decided to purchase furniture from another furniture company. I called the owner and told him that I had changed my mind about the purchase with his company. In the meantime, I was charged two payments from *****, the leasing company, for furniture that I never received from Mattress 4 Less & Furniture Store. Please note, I never received the furniture. I left messages for the owner to cancel the sale. My calls and requests went unanswered. I also called the leasing company, Acima, in Utah to communicate , but they said that they needed a cancellation from the owner to cancel and refund my money. Since that time Acima has refunded my payments. This refund has taken 3 months of constant calling to get the refund. I am now requesting my deposit back from the owner but, (**** ****** Again, the owner has failed to communicate to my request for a refund. It has been the worst experience that I’ve had with any retailer.

We try and accommodate each and every customer with the best customer service possible, however this is not always allowed due to customers having a one way sight towards a two way transaction. Once this purchase was made, you were made clearly aware that there's no refunds, no exchanges and you signed this agreement. You in fact did agree to this, as you and I spoke on the phone several times because you thought highly of our business because as we do all our customers, we make you feel very comfortable and show appreciation to you and your business. I know this because you went so far to ask us to take furniture from your house and deliver to another house clear across town. We did in fact tell you the turnaround time and unfortunately that time frame was delayed 3 or 4 days. However I did alert you about my issues with the shipping companies. I specifically mention that since Covid, things just haven't been the same in this business. I communicated this with you. The near fact to go on public record and try and totally destroy a small business in these already difficult times is truly a shame. Nonetheless, I'm very pleased to know that the finance company was able to provide you the satisfaction you were asking for and truly sorry that our company didn't give you the service you deserve. We will definitely strive to make improvements in the very near future.
