My family and I contracted a move with My Guys Moving & Storage. In preparation for our move, the weather was forecasted to be 100% rain. I contacted the company to inquire about the weather policy. They were not responsive and the movers showed up as planned. The cold and rainy weather took a toll on the moving team. They cut corners that resulted in thousands of dollars of damaged goods and appliances. For example, they left appliances and upholstered furniture in the rain. Items slipped through their hands and they dropped them off steps. They disregarded rain damage to boxes that ended up disintegrating. They left items in our driveway that are still here today. I filed a claim with the company that did not even begin to cover the costs. The management's decision to proceed with the move was outside of the normal realm of the contract and I believe they accept more responsibility in this issue.Business response

I would like to start by saying that we take every complaint seriously. To address the weather issue, The moving office is closed on the weekends. We did not receive a phone call from our customer letting us know that she would like to postpone her move. We do not take it upon ourselves to postpone customers moves due to rain. We leave it up to the customer as we have no idea when they need to be out of their residence.
The treadmill was damaged in the move. The shipper informed the crew to just leave it there and that she was getting another one anyway. On the claim form the only thing that was listed as damage by being left in the in the rain was the treadmill. I have uploaded a copy of the claim form.
The refrigerator was listed on the claim form as the door being damaged and the motor was replaced. It was never stated on the claim form that it was left in the rain. We settled for the damage but not the motor.
I was asked to come pick up the refrigerator and I informed her that we do not dispose of items. Especially since the motor went bad as we do not cover that on our claim.
Also she complained about the crew leaving boxes and things in the rain and disregarding them, but she tipped them very well.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This response is typical of what I've received from this company twisting the situation and making lame excuses. It's not worth responding except regarding the tipping which was not a sign of my satisfaction to the company, but an acknowledgement that each mover had a grueling day. It signifies our family's character and commitment to treating people right. We treat people fairly and expect the same in return. That was not the case with this moving company. They can post as many responses as they want but it doesn't excuse their failure to care.
Regards,
