****** "Aspen Dental scam" before even thinking of booking an appointment. You will find *** complaints, numerous past and pending ********* and horror stories from patients all over the country. Their business model is shady at best, and has in fact been found to be illegal in several states.
Aspen's business model is to scare patients into thinking they have advanced gum disease, regardless of the condition of their teeth and gums, then prescribe and perform unnecessary treatment (root scaling/planing aka "deep cleanings") - for several dollars. They inflate the price of the root scaling/planing and add on several unnecessary additional costs/services/products (prescription products, electric toothbrush, etc).
After getting a 2nd opinion from a local dentist in VB, I discovered I did not in fact need the ********* of dollars worth of work that Aspen had quoted me (AND made me pay a portion of up front to "hold the appointment"), but only a standard cleaning. Most people do NOT need deep cleanings - a simple ****** search will tell you that (and a reputable dentist will verify).
There are plenty of reputable local dentists in ******* Roads that will perform honest work at a fair and reasonable price - go to one of them instead. Luckily I did not let Aspen do anything to me except their "consultation" and was able to get a refund on my "deposit", but hopefully if enough people come forward with the truth, we can outnumber these fake/paid-for 5 star reviews so that others can avoid the extremely negative experience that is pretty much guaranteed by setting foot in an Aspen dental.
