Sentara Health Plans is a RIPOFF!! I was online making my monthly premium payment of ****** when I got CHARGED TWICE for the same premium amount of ****** along with two overdraft fees of ******  When I tried to cancel the two amounts, their system would NOT ALLOW me to delete the payments. I called the Sentara Health BILLING OFFICE the next business day and spoke with a representative who gave me the email address as of where I could email them of what took place on their website over the weekend. The person in the FINANCIAL BILLING DEPARTMENT told me to submit in writing what happened so that they could investigate it, so I submitted a statement to Sentara Health's Financial Department on March 12, 2024. I was told to give the financial department time to investigate it, which I did but no one got back in touch with me so I reached out again with a phone call on May 6, 2024. On May 14,204, I got a call from Sentara Health Plans representative who called to let me know that because it was on the weekend and there was no "LIVE PERSON" to take my payment, just the AUTOMATIC SYSTEM, Sentara Health is not responsible for refunding payments made through the system. She apologized and ended the phone call. i reached out to my banking institute to see what could be done on their end. Contact was made to Sentara but by my bank but was told that since it was pass 60 days, no refund would be given. This is RIDICULOUS BECAUSE I'VE BEEN REACHING OUT TO THE COMPANY SINCE THIS HAPPENED AND WAITING FOR THEM TO INVESTIGATE, IF THEY REALLY GOT OFF THERE BUTTS TO BE LIGITIMATE AND HONEST. BEING THAT THEY ARE NEW TO THE LYNCHBURG, VA AREA, YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HONOR THEIR REPUTATION OF BEING A GOOD COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. My advice to anyone looking to get health insurance, go past this company unless you want your hard earned money to be STOLEN along with OVERDRAFT FEES charged to your bank account.
